Sorry, i don't understand what 2 Peter 2:1 has to do with eternal security..it is talking about false teachers who are preaching another gospel other than the true gospel..TV. is full of them and there are many in other places also..

in Isaiah 58:1-2, He says you have the opportunity to be saved but your sins keep you from salvatiion..they are lost and and never been saved..

Motor,
Could you please answer this, Who is the "among you" at the beginning of this quote? Please answer.
2 Peter 2:1
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
I agree he is speaking to false teachers some of whom were Christians, but they fell away!

I'll add one more to it! Hebrews 10:26-31 "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Goose I would take that to mean all members of the churches of which the letter is addressed.

Couldn't we boast because we have keep our salvation while others have lost theirs?
Everytime you sin do you lose your salvation until you repent? If not then how long does it take to lose your salvation?
If I believe 100% in God and I have received salvation, why would I give it back if I believe in him. Maybe some people would like Hell?
We cannot say we are going to heaven. YOU cannot say you are going to heaven.

Sorry for the short post, I have been really busy at work. I will post a more indepth post soon.

What can in say? you keep bringing up 2 Peter 2:1..no one loses their salvation here..they were tempted yes, but read verse 9, "The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished."

and for Hebrews 10:26-31..these people had never been born again..receiving the knowledge of the truth is a lot different than receiving the finished work of Christ by faith and being born of his Spirit. To receive the knowledge of His truth is simply to know the doctrines of the Christian faith and not necessarily practice them..

nope these guys were not saved to start with...

Snooky,
I can also see your temperament in your writings. In your very first post I told you that I could tell you have been with Jesus. I wasn't kidding. I could tell that by your fruit. That can't be counterfeited. That can only come through a very close walk with Jesus. It can't be learned in a Bible college or out of an intellectual knowledge. God is a spirit and must be worshiped in Spirit and in Truth. Many have the Truth part but appear to be lacking the Spirit part.

In Him,
Chuck

Taz, what part of my explanation of the Judgements don't you understand? or didn't you read it?
Motor I am not one to reply to a post without reading it, that is in my opinion disrespectful and that is something I try to avoid being to any one. I understood what you were saying and I replied with my understanding of that portion of Revelations.
