Default Mysterious Ways

Does God really work in mysterious ways? I have heard many people say something like, "you just never know what God's going to do, His ways are mysterious".

The more I read the bible the more I disagree with that.

I think some things are hard, if not impossible for the human mind to comprehend; i.e. eternity, a day being like a thousand years and a thousand years being like a day, miracles, etc.

On the other hand, the things we need to know; i.e. the plan of salvation, seem to be pretty well cut and dried.

DK..I think what people mean is..God works in really neat ways..like the way some bad things end up working for good etc. I see this all the time. It causes us to trust Him in all things no matter what the circunstances look like..I believe that is what that old saying means..

The Salvation Plan is pretty simple but I'm sure mysterious to some; for to me that's the first thing that needs to happen then the other things will fall in place. The Holy Spirit will reveal to those that ask as He sees necessary. Not everyone is able to grasp God's revelations at the same speed.. some are still being fed with milk while many are partakers of meat!
There are many sayings that come from man; those things are not important. What is important is what His word says. How many times have we heard " God helps those that help themselves?" that is not from Bible, that is from the Koran!

The apostle Paul talks about God's mysterious ways in Ephesians 5...as he explains how marriage is like Christ and the church. There are many mysteries and they are revealed to his servants by the Spirit...
Revelation and Daniel are to mysterious books . The trinity is certainly a mystery ..1 Cor. 13 tells us that we ALL see through a glass dimly BUT later we will know ..thus the reason we walk by faith. We learn to trust God and His Word.
