Exactly. I'm not interested in what some other translation that is very different than the KJV says.

This is the other thing I was contemplating while sitting in a treestand a couple days ago! IF - as some people contend - the first days were millions of years long, then you have to remember that ONE day and ONE night were stated as being each of the days before the sun verified the length of days.

THAT MEANS that the sun was shining brightly on what would have likely been a still very hot earth with no let up and no escape from the unrelenting heat. That would most likely have been followed by a night that was millions of years long as well. WHAT could possibly live - much less begin to live - in such a harsh environment? That's hardly the ideal environment for life to arise out of nothing. Too hot with no escape followed by no light whatsoever for millions of years??? REALLY???

Scripture is very clear about this. You still only have ONE day and ONE night for each of those days. No getting around that.

Exactly Dave. Milllions of years of unrelenting heat and light, followed by millions of years of dark and cold. What would that do to evolution? Something "evolves" to adapt to constant heat and light and all of a sudden it's always cold and dark. Adapt to cold and dark, *BAM* it's hot and light.

It blows my mind that some people try to connect God and evolution, but no matter how you slice it, it's oil and water--simply does not compute. The only way around it is to write your own version, completely disregarding the Bible and parts of science--and where does that leave you? You have no real faith in either one. I just don't get that line of thinking.

I think the two go hand-in-hand, but primarily in a religious sense--if you believe in God and evolution.
