Default It's going to be OK..................really!

You know.
All one has to do is go to any message board or forum on the interweb and they will find plenty of doomsday profits spewing out messages of doom and unrelenting gloom.

God, it seems, will have his wrath and torture us all for the lives that our ancestors lived before us. It seems, "in their minds", that we must "pay" if you will, for their sins.

Ha!

Here's the deal.

My father who lived through the depression, said his father, who lived through WWI, and his father who lived through the freaking Civil War, and his father who starved to death in Ireland before his wife was able to get on the boat to America all said the same thing.

They all said that the world will end soon. Times and things going on all point to the end of times. The Bible says it, "they said".

It has always been this way. Now is no different than then. I actually find it quite funny that people think now is the worst of times. Tell that to a Jew in a concentration camp 70 years ago.

You know what?

These are the good times in the worlds history. There are no bad wars going on, not real bad anyway. And we have the information age to look forward too. The only thing standing in the way of true progress is.......................drum roll please........................religion, and the belief in God.

What will destroy mankind? I will be Man's belief in a non-existent God, and his will to die for those beliefs. That is what will destroy humanity as we know it.

So open your mind. Forget what your were "taught", and learn to think in a more positive way. Then and only then might our species have a chance to continue to thrive on this planet. Do not this, and we might just shut this planet down. We have that power. And if, or when it happens. It will be in the name of God. Who doesn't even exist.

I find that quite ironic......................don't you?

Rant over.

I think we have a "Religion" forum where you can debate the existence of the Creator...

Actually you can't. You're not allowed to do that there.

So how again is the belief in God stopping progress? I mean you have never been dead, so you don't know what is in the afterlife, do you? So one can say, its your opinion.

How again will a belief in God and someone willing to die for that going to destroy mankind?

Was it the belief in God that got us near a nuclear conflict in the coldwar?

Maybe you can educate us on where this rant is going or coming from. Because right now, your just looking like a madman on the side of the street ranting.

With all that said, I tend to agree that every generation in the last 200 years thought the sky was falling. And some for good reason. The big difference I see now is resources. Oil, water and forest. If you have ever been to the Baltimore aquarium, there is an interesting display showing rain forest of the past 500 years of the world and its decline. It also shows predicted world population growth and predicted deforestation. Now, your basis for the end of mankind and God, is pretty flimsy and child like thinking. But this is just rationalization and logic. I know your not big on either. The water isn't getting any cleaner. The forest are not coming back.

I mean for thousands and thousands of years, the world population stayed relatively steady. Less than 1billion. So now we predicted to have 10billion in the next generation. You really think we can sustain that?

Shallow minded ...................afraid people are the-only ones who have posted.

My case in point. If I speak against your god, you must defend yourselves.\\

If this goes on long enough, you will feel compelled to kill me.

So, my point in all of this? It is that religious people will lead to the destruction of the earht/

Enjoy it fellers.

Ok, so where is the proof? What is basis for this being the destruction of the earth. Thats childlike thinking.

Again, your not very good at this are you? Looking like a mad man on the street ranting beside a guy with "the end is near" sign hanging. You crack me up.

I know my God has never told me to kill anyone. Ever, for any reason. My case in point, and all that.

I received a complaint on this thread and am not able to fully go through it at work. In case it is locked, etc., now is the time to get your posts in.
