Default 144,000 and the great multitude?

Who are the 144,000? Who are the great multitude?

Rev 7:4 NIV - Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

Rev 7:9 NIV - After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
Rev 7:13 NIV - Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes-who are they, and where did they come from?"
Rev 7:14 NIV - I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

In my opinion 144,000 are all that will be saved pre-trib. The great multitude are those who when then plagues and God's wrath start, finally turn to obey God's Word and clean themselves. Sorry! Kinda takes away the rapture theory!

Here is the great tribulation in an old testement prophesy!

Isa 28:15 KJV - Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Isa 28:16 KJV - Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Isa 28:17 KJV - Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
Isa 28:18 KJV - And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
Isa 28:19 KJV - From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only [to] understand the report.

The overflowing Scourge is the great tribulation. The greek for scourge is whip! God is coming with a whip! He is going to pour wrath out on this disobedient people. Many have said we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and saviour! We will not be affected! We are going to be raptured out! If you have obeyed God's Word and set yourself upon God's solid foundation that is partially true minus the rapture. God laid in Zion a stone, a tried and precious stone. Judgement he will lay to the line and righteousness to the plummet. He is going to see how you line up to the truth! The standard has been set! But those who live a lie and do not obey God's Word and believe a lie that they are saved will be trodden down by the tribulation. When the tribulation starts people will understand what is going on and it will be vexation to them! Vexation is horror, an object of terror or trembling in the greek.

Eph 5:25 KJV - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26 KJV - That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27 KJV - That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Here is the great multitude and how they are able to stand before the throne of the lamb. They sanctify and cleanse themselves by the washing of the water by the Word!

Rev 19:11 KJV - And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Rev 19:12 KJV - His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Rev 19:13 KJV - And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Here is Jesus! Notice he is the Word of God! His vesutre is dipped in blood! What blood? His blood that he cleaned the great multitude with!

Mat 7:13 NIV - "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
Mat 7:14 NIV - But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

those of the innumerble number are the ones that will be here on earth , alive because
everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent forth his Son into the world, not for him to judge the world, but for the world to be saved through him.
36 He that exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; he that disobeys the Son will not see life....... thats because they are dead .

which is better dead or alive ?

The bible plainly states the 144,000 will be 12,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel. They will be preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom during the tribulation and will be protected by God during the tribulation.

The ones in Rev 7: 13-14 are people who have believed and were saved, but killed for worshiping the anit-christ.

Ray, do you not believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church?

And what scripture do you base your belief on? Or is it something your denominational doctrine has taught you?

They were killed on earth but were saved and now will spend eternity with the Lord. I think that is a gimme.

Thats funny! Everything I type is from my heart! I do not belong to a denomination. So it is by the Spirit of God that I have been taught. Not by any man or denominational doctrine. What scripture do you base the rapture on?
