Default Simply An Admonition

Dear Gentlemen,

In every family God has a spiritual leader. You most likely are it or you wouldn't be here. If you are it, I admonish all of you to take your calling very serious for the "Fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

I saw something new today in chapter 5 of the Book of James similiar to what I posted a few weeks back from Luke 5:20. Luke 5 :20 was about some friends bringing a bed laden man to Jesus. and the verse says "SEEING THIER FAITH he said to the sick man ..your sins are forgiven..Is this not a wonderful example of intercessory prayer..the word says ..Jesus saw the intercessors faith..and forgave the man and he was healed..

James 5 is very similiar..In many churches today folks try to put a guilt trip on the sick man and saying the reason he is still sick is because of his lack of faith...Nay brothers ..[ -; James 5 says the sick are to call on the elders of the church to pray...AND IF THIER prayers are offered in faith the person will be healed and thier sins forgive,,,,

Summary and what it means to Chuck7...my dear friends..I've realized for my family I'm about as good as it gets..I've done funerals and have church in my home..but I'm no where I know I need to be at..{ And it's not unobtainable ..been there and need to be there ASAP} I need to have more of a burden for my family..not just immediate family but extended family..I know what it takes to walk in The Spirit ..where there is great confidence..great love and joy..I 'm repented of my mediocre life style and taking my call as the priest of my family serious...no longer looking for my family to "Get it together" but rather be an intercessor...a ready in season minister..Time is short..Let us be whom God has called us to be..
That Righteous man
"For the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

God bless,
C7

Good post Chuck

"For the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

The key word is Righteous! I agree with everything you posted. Time and time again I hear men talk of God not hearing their prayer, but their lifestyles reflect their relationship with God. Some just don't get it, God is not a vending machine God despensing favors just for the asking.

BTW James is my favorite book in the N.T.

I am not what you would call a righteous man but I do have faith in God and continue to pray for those dear to me.I may not be deserving of a blessing but I ask for loved ones not myself,if some must parish so others may live then I prefer it be me if others can continue from my small sacrifice.

RLoving1,

I can not call myself a righteous man either..not when comparing to the man that James is referring to { Elijah}

It sounds like your heart is in the right place..we simply start where we are at..Prayer is wonderful ..{ -;
Jesus prayed all the time..
God bless,
C7

However; theologically speaking..Paul says that through faith we are righteous because of what Christ Jesus did for us on The Cross ..I know it doesn't feel that way, but if the Word calls us righteous..than by faith we are righteous through Jesus{ -;
We are also to walk worthy of this high calling..
