I'm glad to hear of your contentment and fun. Yes, I imagine you do hear a lot of things from lots of people. My earlier remarks about pride were not directed at you. Please show me how I directed them at you. That is pure conjecture on your part. The remarks were intended to be a broad general statement...somewhat like a sermon is broad and not directed at anyone in particular. Sometimes such things strike a raw nerve in people who are feeling a twinge of guilt. I have felt like that myself sometimes.

You are right, you don't own it. Why do you suppose that moderators have posted reminders that no one owns this forum? They must see something you don't. Actually, I like all the Scripture you post. However, I don't necessarily agree with some of the opinions and conclusions you try to draw from it. Your posts hold no one accountable. We are each accountable to God alone. Disagreeing is fine with me as long as you are polite and not disagreeable in disagreeing. Has that always been the case?

Indeed, this forum is to discuss and disagreement is fine as long as we can remain respectful. As Christians, our beliefs are based on faith. Everyone's view is based on his individual faith. Some are more mature in faith than others. Some are "milk drinkers" and others are "meat eaters". You say that you get attacked by people when you post. Really? I have never seen that. Chad gets attacked by people when he posts sometimes but I haven't seen you get attacked.

Ray, come now...I never called you prideful. That is not the truth. Show me where I did that. You are treating me like Chad gets treated here. People put words into his mouth...things he never said. People assume that because Chad is a member of a certain denomination...that he must adhere to a predetermined set of doctrines and beliefs. It would be best on this board to avoid such rash assumptions. Stereotypes aren't nice...whether they are racial or religious or whatever.
In the same way, you are trying to put words into my mouth and you assume you know something when you don't. I'm beginning to know how Chad must feel.

Ray, don't you think that many others who hold views different than yours may feel that they have had things revealed to them?
Sincere Christians do not always see eye to eye. Equally sincere Christians can differ on things like the rapture, millenialism, etc. They can quote Scripture to prove their view just as you and I can quote Scripture to prove ours. Does that prove us more right than they? You want to talk about an accusation of pride...do you ever accuse anyone of compromising(living in mixed doctrine)? Can't we respect one another's views and move on. You can't prove what you think any more than others who see it another way. You say you don't have all the answers. Go back and read all your posts on this board. You certainly seem to have an answer to everything. As far as the pride thing...I don't accuse you of that. However, people who read here may look at us both as prideful. I certainly wouldn't blame them if they did. There are wise words for us here....

Luke 18:9-14
To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: [10] "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. [11] The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. [12] I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
[13] "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
[14] "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

You are right...Paul did not change his teaching. However, Paul was also very diplomatic in his dealings with people. He was discerning. Paul respected others. It might pay us all to pray for a measure of his discernment and respect.

How sad that is, Ray. I never called you that and would not have called them that. That is simply not the truth. If it was, you could prove it. So why don't you?
