Thumbs up A good ending

I was blessed while watching the Outdoor Channel last night when Wilber Primos led a group in prayer giving thanks to GOD in Christs name for a wonderful time hunting Elk and the joy of sharing that with friends. It's not a common sight on TV these days unless it's a purely religious channel to see men praying openly on a major channel like the Outdoor Channel. Thanks my Brothers for that display of Faith.

I've seen him do that too in one of his "truth about turkey hunting" videos. His videos - from what I've seen - are clean and family friendly and it's good to see him asking God to bless the food.

This reminds me of something similar.

My son played a lot of ice hockey when he was younger and there were a few Christian guys on the team(for a couple consecutive years). After their warm up skate before a game they would gather around their goal net and say a prayer together.

One day I am sitting in the stands and one of the parents beside me said "I wonder what they are talking about in their pre-game huddle?"

I told her they were saying a prayer and she just about fell over. Hockey is such a competitive, "rough" sport that she could not imagine those boys saying a prayer together.

That team got along together and had heaps of fun. They were a fairly good team and enjoyed their wins and took defeats very well.

I played HS football, basketball and baseball at a public HS. Before the start of every game the coaches would have us huddle up for a moment of silence. I don't know that it was ever officially said that it was for prayer but, at least for me, it was clear that's what it was about. I think it's a very good practice. I wonder if public schools still do this or is it now considered politically incorrect?

The little school where I attended (and my son attends now) openly prays before PTO meetings, etc. I think most schools have banned open prayer though.

As far as I know, the Primos boys are the real deal. One of them--Tony?--left, but is doing some kind of speaking with a Christian theme. I'll have to get with a friend to get the details.

Yes, public school. It's not uncommon here in the South--one of the many reasons I love living here.

Wow, that's interesting. I do love NY state, but I am frustrated with the liberal/progressive politics.

I couldn't stand it. Forgot to mention that there is always a prayer offered at graduation, etc. ceremonies as well--over the P.A. system. Folks here aren't ashamed of thier religion, and we still way outnumber the libs.
