People have been trying to predict the time of Christ's return since His ascention. So far, they are batting 0%. I don't know why anyone would believe those who claim to know, when the apostles themselves didn't know. I really don't beleive anyone on this earth will ever know more or be closer to Christ than they were.

Chad, I don't speak for anyone except myself here, but who are those "who claim to know" the time? You have made referance to them several time recently, but I have missed those posts.
If we don't know at least as much as the Apostles, the the church has had its growth stunted. We have failed to obey God and go on unto perfection. Are we living in Acts chapter 1 or living in 2010? The Apostles didn't have the bible compiled as we do today. Can we deny that knowledge has increased? Can we deny that some prophesies have came to pass during that time frame? 2,000 years of bible study and prayer and we havn't learned anything. Millions of messages preached, and there was no faith gathered?
You seem to confuse the present time, and future time. Today isn't the fulfillment of tomorrows prophecy. Todays truth and tomorrows truth is not the same, or there would be no tomorrows truth, we would have it all today.

There's been different religions try and predict the end of time, books, radio preachers, television preachers, etc. So far none of them have gotten it right, and according to the Bible none of them will.

Who penned the Bible? How can we know more than those who lived it? How can we be better informed than those who got their information straight from Christ and the Holy Spirit?

Again, has the church failed to make any progress as we press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God. Has the church failed to go on? Has the church digressed and failed to progress? Has satin won all the battles of the last 2000 years?

Where does the bible say this? This is another reoccuring theme presented on this site, that fails to get a scriptural backing.
We need to get serious about what the bible does, and does not actually say. Jesus speaking in his time, in the days of his flesh said, "no man knoweth the day nor the hour". Man has added the continuing phrase, "and never will". We just made a hybrid gospel!! Part of man, and part of God. I could be wrong and I will be the first to acknowledge the actual wording of the scripture.
