Default Some recent thoughts I'd like to share..

The Cross..

Sin put Jesus on that cross..where does sin come from?? The answer is Satan. The next time we joyfully laugh with sinners or partake in sin ourselves..think of the cruel torture that Jesus went through..why would one want to laugh and pal around with Satan's people. Our Savior went through H E L L for us."Fools make a mockery of sin."

Prosperity Doctrine

has really been a seducing spirit in the church.Think of all the saints that are suffering and it appears God is delaying..Well, He's not delaying. We are His body to visit and encourage these folks.
Many of this folks { BEcause of this false doctrine} feel forsaken..Has God forsaken these folks? No, we need to go to them and love them and encourage them in the Lord.

Folks..do you want to be rich...then be content ,,,be thankful IN ALL THINGS..and learn about the true riches from contentment.
This doctrine was used in The Garden where Adam and Eve feel for it..and after a 40 day fast Satan tried it on Jesus..the temptation of wanting more..BE CONTENT and BE YE THANKFUL IN ALL THINGS.."For we are not ignoranat of Satan's devices."

Just a few things from where I live at.
God bless,
Chuck7

You know, over the years I have seen alot of people I know drift in and out of this doctrine. I used think it was pretty harmless and I fiqured once they matured, they would realize the falicy of it all, and most did. But then there were those who never seemed to break away from it and spent all their time and alot of their money seemingly trying to reach the "next level." You, of course, never get there and many of those people became discouraged and walked away from God and became very bitter. Therefore, it is not harmless, it is a deception clothed in light that is as old as temptation itself.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

Same here Pastor Jim..I had not realized it's power till lately..basically Christians are taught to expect more ..and when it doesn't come..they gripe..and in essense ..who are they relly griping about ?God Himself..been very guilty myself..and I had a heart to heart talk with the Lord today and am purposing to be more thankful..and strive to show God's love to my wife and others..and believe that ALL THINGS really do work together for our good..NO MATTER HOW IT LOOKS IN OUR EYES ..for we are called and are His..appreciate the reply/.

While visiting the church this week...I ask the Lord to give me more understanding about the cross..I saw Jesus in that church on the cross..not a clear vision but in the spirit in my mind..and he suffered greatly because of our sin..I now think about the cross a whole lot..especially during temptation

Later I thought of this verse
Hebrews 10:29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

and I began to think about how lightly I had taken sin..and realize when I do it's like me joining in with the mockers around the cross..Jesus went through great suffering for the stuff that is now making Hollywood..and many folks tune right in forgetting it was this stuff that put Jesus on the cross.I beleive when I get a better understanding of the cross..that it will radically change my life..

Victory!
Paul uses an interesting image of salvation when he writes that Jesus “disarmed the powers and authorities” by making “a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:15). He uses the word for a military parade: the winning general brings captured enemy soldiers in a victory parade at home. They are disarmed, humiliated, put on display. Paul’s point here is that Jesus did this on the cross.
What looked like a shameful death for Jesus was actually a glorious triumph for God’s plan, because it is through the cross that Jesus won victory over enemy powers, including Satan, sin and death. Their claim on us has been fully satisfied in the death of the innocent victim. They cannot demand any more than what he has already paid. They have nothing further to threaten us with.
“By his death,” we are told, Jesus was able to “destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil” (Hebrews 2:14). “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (1 John 3:8). Victory was won on the cross.
Sacrifice
Jesus’ death is also described as a sacrifice. The idea of sacrifice draws on the rich imagery of Old Testament sacrifices. Isaiah 53:10 calls our Savior a “guilt offering.” John the Baptist calls him the Lamb “who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Paul calls him a “sacrifice of atonement,” a “sin offering,” a “Passover lamb,” a “fragrant offering” (Romans 3:25; 8:3; 1 Corinthians 5:7; Ephesians 5:2). Hebrews 10:12 calls him a “sacrifice for sins.” John calls him “the atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 2:2; 4:10).
Several terms are used to describe what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Different New Testament authors use different words or images to convey the idea. The exact terminology or mechanism is not essential. What is important is simply that we are saved through the death of Jesus. “By his wounds we are healed.” He died to set us free, to remove our sins, to suffer our punishment, to purchase our salvation. “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11).
