Hi folks,
I thought the title would wet your apetite..However; I have no one in mind here. The idea actually came from 2 individuals..Snooky and Adrian Rogers whom my wife and I listened to today..
Many times I hear this harsh wording and I don't know how to deal with it. ..Well enough rambling let's get to the meat and potatoes and go back to the Garden of Eden..where the real wolf started. God set up Adam and Eve to enjoy life in it's fullest. Until the wolf came. The Father of Lies.and here is our first characteristic of a real wolf ...The Wolf says,
"Hast God said?" in other words getting you to doubt God's Word..that you are really saved..that you are serving the right Jesus. My dear friends Paul had this problem , Adam and Eve had this problem..the Children of Israel has this problem..and I see it sometimes on here..My dear friends we are all a "Whosoever" and a "Whosoever that believeth" We all only stand by invisable faith.
I'm wondering which side we are really on when we try to get our brothers and sisters to doubt their relationship with God. That my freinds is the real mark of a wolf..
Secondly ..their teeth are sharp..Satan's ultimate goal is to rob and kill you..if not your physical being your spirit..your joy..John 10 ;10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus said you can identify them by their lack of fruit..Wolves can't be nice. Matthew 7:15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7" 16Ye shall know them by their fruits.
Dear friends ..I have no one in mind here..it's was just more than a coincidence for me that Snooky and Adrian Rogers both spoke about wolves today..so I decided to investigate..Jesus warns all of us not to be a stumbling block to our brothers..so this message could be a warning to all of us. I had said earlier to Snooky that there are no wolves here..Adrian Rogers in his message disagreed and said." When someone is teaching to doubt God or God's Word..if he knows it or not..he's acting as a spokesman for the Father of ALL LIES"..a wolf.
So that is it..and what else brought this on..I heard a 2nd message on how you can know that you are saved..This Baptist minister did one persuasive job and had my inner man charged..BUT inwardly I found myself asking ..What about this verse and that verse,,and I got quiet and the Lord spoke to my heart.."Whosoever believeth shall not periseh." and that is why the enemy works overtime to bring doubt to His chosen ones..Adrian says , Satan will spend more time attacking the believer in His full trust in God than any other area..
Summary, we need to be very careful when we are sowing seeds of doubt to our brothers and sisters..for it's by faith they stand.
Matthew 19 : 6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! God bless,

Chuck; You are very close IMO to the truth, but concider your statements, in the light that I am trying to put upon it. To be truth, we must see it in the proper light and setting, as you know. Two often see more than one alone.
In the garden, it wasn't a wolf, but THE SERPENT. However, the name given isn't important, the result of his lies is important.
Let's look closely, the 1st mistake was made by Eve as she became friendly and entered into a dialog with the serpent. This didn't cause Eve to doubt herself, but rather to doubt the word of God. Is God really speaking as it appears? or do we have to read between the lines to find some hidden message that isn't real apparent. The serpent implied that God had spoken the words, but was that really what he meant? Eve begin to question, "do I really have to do what I have been instructed by God to do"? May be I can sin a little every day and still be saved.
Who was in the transgression? The bible said Eve was decieved, but Adam was in the transgression. Isn't that scriptural? We are now back to the scripture that I have been using so much of late, To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Eve wasn't judging hersef, or her position in the garden, she was questioning the position of Gods authority in her life. Man does what man wants to do. If God says otherwise, man will justify himself by questioning what God hath said.
The word of God is filled with examples of men who were admonished to examine themselves, this isn't the sign of a wolf, just the exact opposite. It is the love of God that leadeth thee to repentance. The wolf says "keep quite, don't rock the boat, over look it, it doesn't really matter, God understands, ect" The men of God cry aloud, the wolf counters by crying, no love, no wisdom, cruel, unmerciful, no fruits, it can't be of God! The men of God cry, "repent", the wolf crys legalism, self righteous pharisee, hyprocrite! The men of God preach the truth without fear, or favor. The wolf slips through the flock and whispers, have you ever heard such nonsense? He sure thinks he is something doesn't he? Some one should call him before the church. No wonder the church doesn't grow. If he preaches that again, I will take my money and start a church where the truth is preached without any doctrine. The wolf withstands the truth, the wolf destroys confidence in Gods word. The wolf condemns doctrine. The wolf puts the way of the flesh on equal footing with The Word of God.
Whether we call him The Serpent, The Wolf, Devil, ect. makes little difference. We are not ignorant of his devises. We must resist him if we are to serve God. Man cannot serve two masters.
In the garden, it wasn't a wolf, but THE SERPENT. .
I am glad you cleared that up. After reading your first post I was beginning to doubt what little I do know about the Bible. I was pretty sure it said it was a talking snake, not a wolf, that tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. My limited knowledge of the Bible is due to the fact that Deists reject divine revelation and rely on autonomous human reason to learn the truth about Nature's God's creation.
"Chuck; You are very close IMO to the truth"
Snooky
Interesting..note I highlighted the word close..thanks but no thanks..The Lord's Spirit doesn't lead us close to the truth but "Ye shall know The Truth." ye meaning me..the beleiver.

Chuck; Let us grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is none of us who understand all the mysteries of God. However some understand more than others. Even Paul said that he pressed toward the mark, but hadn't obtained it all yet. The key is walking in the truth that has been given. When that is done, one is a perfect man (at that point). He has done everything that God has required of him. More will be given if time permits, but at that moment, he is a perfect man. Sin is to know to do good, and then not doing what is known. There has been no refusal of Gods will, therefore there is no sin. No sin = perfection in the flesh. Past sins are under the blood, future sins have not been committed, the same is a perfect man.
So you are correct in that sense, that close isn't good enough. However one doesn't have to attain unto all knowledge to be in the truth. Close is a possibility when moving forward with God.
Mat 7:15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Mar 7:20He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' Mar 7:21For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,Mar 7:22greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. Mar 7:23All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' " Mat 23:26Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Mat 23:27"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. Mat 23:28In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
Here are your ravaging wolves! Those who claim to know God and on the inside are full of evil. What is evil defined as in the scripture above? Sin! Sounds just like the preachers today! Walking around in fine suits, nose in the air, I am saved by the grace of God! Their inside is full of wickedness and deceit. They are blind guides!
What are the requirnements to teach the Word of God? The person below is not a wolf on the inside! Tts 1:6An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Tts 1:7Since an overseer [fn] is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless-not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Tts 1:8Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. Tts 1:9He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

It's funny though..I read the same exact scriptures from my Bible and yet without the condemning attitude..not sure if you realize you are coming across this way Ray but whe I read the Word..I get charged...not beat up..
Like it or not my friend..we are saved by grace..what a man does with that grace is between him and his Lord..we just need to make sure we are not being a stumbling block to others and that we are making our calling sure..I for one would never group all of God's servants together and saying they are hypocrites simply because they are part of a denonmination..actually I wouldn't condemn any..behold the judge standeth at the door..we are not called to judge but to serve.
David had all the right in the world to kill Saul ..yet David said I will not touch God's anointed one..even after God had shut Saul off.
When Our Lord's disciple's were ready to call down fire on a group ..Jesus corrected them by saying,"Ye know not what spirit ye are of." Trust me..if one is this fired up abou tpreaching ..then go to your county jail..they will welcome you..they welcomed me..but to preach here is silliness..we are ," The Choir." LOL

Choir practise!! Never think the a farmer wastes his time sharpening his hoe. Having the senses excercised by reason of use. These discussions will prepare you to kill the gaint that awaits in the valley.
