Some food for thought about criticizing your brothers and sisters.
Romans 14
1 Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.
. 4 Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him judge whether they are right or wrong. And with the Lord’s help, they will do what is right and will receive his approval.
10 So why do you condemn another believer[a]? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bend to me,
12 Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. 13 So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.
2 Tim. 2: 23 Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. 24 A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. 25 Gently instruct those who oppose the truth.
Phillipians 2: 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
James 4; 11 Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. 12 God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
James 5: 9 Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door!
Matthew 7:1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Is this an example of being justified to judge those who you may believe are also judging others?

But is it charitable? I think we all are guilty of violating these instructions from time to time. The mission is to win hearts & minds, not arguments.

Isn't critizing another for critizing, the height of hyprocricy?
Doesn't the scripture plainly teach that you shall KNOW the truth, and the truth shall MAKE you free? If one fails to embrace the truth and stand for that truth that sets men free, hasn't he just snuffed out his light? Can one love his fellow man in the smallest measure, and withhold the truth from him for any reason?
Sorry guys, but this double standard that has been so prevelent on here, just doesn't cut the mustard. One is either for the truth, the whole truth, or he isn't for the truth at all.
Pleasers of men don't make very good witnesses. They could end up with blood upon their heads.
I want my hands to be be clean when I stand before my God.
If speaking the truth is hatred, then I am guilty. If failing to compromise the word of God is a lack of love, then I am guilty. If believing the scripture means what it says, and says what it mean is to be comdemned, then I plead guilty.
Abrahams works were not imputed unto him for righteousness, His faith was imputed!! In Faith Abraham believed God and stumble not at his promises.

The Kings were preparing for battle and all the men pleasing, flesh justifying preachers of smooth things and good tidings were saying, Go up. The King asked if there was not yet one more prophet that they could inquire of? The answer was, yes, there is one more but he never speaks anything but evil unto me and I hate him.
Do I seek to please men, or God? which is the important one?
Is one become your enemy because he speaks the truth unto you?
And how exactly do you expect your fellow man to know the truth if you brandish that same truth like a threatening weapon? If you shout the truth at your brother, all you will do is cause him to close his ears to you, & your mission as an evangelist of Christ is a failure. However, if you bring the truth before your brother in a way that he can understand it & embrace it more readily, such as in his own language (not diminishing the truth), instead of bashing him over the head with it, then you will make a believer of him.
This is reminding me of the reading from today's mass. The pharisee & the tax collector enter the temple. The pharisee takes his place at the front of the temple & proceeds to thank God that he is not like the other sinners, like the tax collector, & then rattles off all his good deeds, & accomplishments. Meanwhile the tax collector sits in the back, eyes downcast, begging forgiveness. When the judgement comes, who is first, & who is last? The pharisee will be put in the back of the line, or worse, will be left outside the gate.

I agree, it is eaiser to justify the double standard and continue to critize others. I know the calling that God has called me with, and as It is so clearly stated, we are not the judge of anothers servant, so I will just worry about speaking as I feel lead of The Spirit, and answer to God for my success, or failure in obeying Him.
This exchange reminds me of some old sayings I used to hear from my Pops . . . . "Pot calling the kettle black" . . . ."When you point your finger at someone you have three pointing back at yourself" . . . ."Practice what you preach".

This is hllarious..I simply quoted a few scriptures..from a recent study... I had no one in mind..and my ole my...that word surely is powerful .and sharper.. than any 2 edged sword..Good grief I can remember when Jesus did this a few times in the New Testament, He nearly got thrown off a cliff..Sorry fellows..the words are not mine..they are my Lords..I'm just the messinger boy.

Chuck, There is no arguement with the word. No questioning about your pointing out the mistakes of others. One who can't receive chastening isn't a son, we all agree with that. I only question why Bro Chuck seems to not apply some of the lesson he delievers to other, to himself.

Snooky ..the godly thing to do is realize we have differences and try to live in peace..there was nothing controversial in this thread..no one or group was addressed and it would have been very simple to advoid it if you didn't want to encourage me..I do not agree with most of your post so I simply ignor them..why can't yhou do the same?
