What is Grace?

I personally agree with Paul..and "have no confidence in my flesh.."
Jesus siad it clearly..."Apart from me ye can do nothing." and if I were sinless I certaily would not proclaim it publically or ever boast about it..for it's the vine that holds the branch and not we ourselves....

Now I have in my life ran into a few that may fall pretty close to sinless..and they all have some things in common..
a. Very humble
b. very kind
C. you knew they were Christians and they didn't speak a word.
d. they had a glow about them
e, they attracted folks to Jesus ..not driving them away
f. they were a blessing to be around.
g. did not gossip or show favorites..
h. very moddest..kind of quiet..
i. never ever talked about their righteous deeds..
j/ they were in love with Jesus

They made you thirsty..

Through many trials and temptations...we through faith and patience will one day have our characters changed..

This is why Jesus said,"By their fruit ye shall know them." Jesus was not just speaking empty wors ..thi sis for real..He said, "A bad tree can not bring forth good fruit."

Let's look at the fruit once more..

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another.

This is abosulutely correct Chuck! But there is a catch. If we unite as one in Christ we will unite in the truth. Christ is the truth! Christ is the Word of God! There is no denomanation or theology in Christ the Word of God. There is one truth and one way and that is through him and his Grace. His power to overcome our flesh and be united with him!
1Cr 6:15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!
1Cr 6:9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
The wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God! Who is the wicked? It tells us! Do not be deceived! The sexual immoral, do you surf porn, do you lust after women, do you have sex outside of marriage, if you do you wont go to God's Kindom! Idolaters, Do you put your own lives in front of God and make yourself an idol, do you put your job in front of God, do you put your family in front of God, do you put money in front of God, Do you put anything in front of God? If you do you are not going to God's Kingdom! Adulterers, are you married and cant control your eyes! Then your not going to make it to God's kingdom! You know what prostitute and homosexuals are they are not going to make it to God's kingdom! Regardless if you call yourself a Christian or not! Do not be deceived if you do these things!
1Cr 6:10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Do you steal or take things that dont belong to you, Could you give more to the needy and take less for yourself, do you have a little to much to drink every once in a while, will you do what ever you have to do to make money, do you make false statement about people? If you do you wont go to God's kingdom! Do not be deceived!
1Cr 6:11
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
As children of God that is what some of you were! The people Paul was talking to changed! The children of God are not people walking around calling themselves christians and walking in justified sin! There are reqirnments to be called children of God! They were washed in the water of the Word and sanctified or made holy! They were justified in the name of Jesus Christ who is the Word of God and by the spirit of God who is the truth. These next scripture perfectly match 1cr6:11
Eph 5:25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
Eph 5:26to make her holy, cleansing [fn] her by the washing with water through the word,
This is why Christ died! To make you holy by the washing with water through the Word! When you obey the truth of the Word it cleanses you and makes you holy and sanctified. It is a baptism! What is the name of Jesus?
Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
1Jo 5:6¶This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
If you are justified in the name of Jesus and by the spirit you are justified by doing all things acourding to the truth of the Word of God. Jesus is the Word and he is truth and the truth is many are deceived and double minded! If we do it in his name we are allowing his Word to empower us to do it exaclty as he did! Grace! I am not making these post to poke fun or try and make anyone feel bad. I am trying to get them to see the truth. How can you sugar coat turn from sin or die! What did God tell Jonah to tell Nineveah? What did God tell Noah to tell the people? What happend to the people who listened and what happened to the people who didnt? I am not an ear tickler. Sorry! I did not attack anyone! I was attacked by what I posted then I defended the truth! We are discussing things that are minor! There are so many wonderful things to be revealed when you start to make the effort to get out of sin. That is what I want to share with you all! I agree with your view on denonminations..I don't belong to any..Yet I don't hate them ..I listen to them and eat the meat and toss the bones..I'll be listeing to a brother name Singer this morning..has some excellent insights of God's Word...It's good to hear other brothers unless we become a law unto ourselves..Cults start this way..BUT I don't have to join them and I'm free to disagree on some issues..I went to a Bible college for about 6 years..magoring in Bible..I questioned the professors alot and did not join their affiliation because I didn't agree with some magor issues..BUT the expereince was good. and we have His promice..
Romans 8:28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.


this religious forum is represented by many different views and convictions...and all from various Christian churches..I have no problem with that..we should try to learn something new everyday..However; speaking in a condescending way to others..having an I'm right and you are wrong atitude is simply unbecoming and does nothing to promote the gaspel but rather brings reproach..The only way this works is sincere love of the brethren..When I first came here I did not like Baptist or Church of Christ..Well, most of my friends on here are Baptist ..as I have grown up..and one of my best friends is Church of Christ..and some have the same back ground as me..Love breaks away the denominational barriers..Over the last years God has knocked down my denominational walls..




There is one truth { Yes ..one Bible..but not all will interpret it like you Ray..this is where understanding, and patience come in } not one Christian has learned it all yet..Just this week God has taught me a huge nugget on patience..Patience is a wonderful friend..and without it our character will never change.."Therefore we count our trials all joy."so let Patience have her perfect work that ye may be complete lacking nothing."

and Romans 5 ." .so that we may be able to stand in any trial."

Rev. 13 during the Mark of the Beast..This will be the trying of the saints patience and faith."

And Jesus said.." In your patience possess ye your souls ." (Luke 21:19) Faith and Patience work together..

I will steer clear of the word theology its man's not God's. But I gladly accept to be full of study because I am. Knowledge is a very big part of it and we have to dig deep into the Word as Jesus says here!
Luk 6:47I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice.
Luk 6:48He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
Luk 6:49But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
When we dig down deep into Jesus the Word of God and do what he says we establish a foundation of truth that wont be shaken when sin and times of tribulation come! When we hear his words and dont walk in the truth we have no foundation in which we will fall and eventually be destroyed!
We have knowledge when we obey the truth and we receive something from this knowledge!
1Jo 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Knowing God by the truth of the Word and knowing he is inside you is eternal life!
1Jo 2:24¶Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
1Jo 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, [even] eternal life.
1Jo 2:26 These [things] have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
If you have the truth in you and do as Jesus said you have eternal life. You have knowledge of the truth through God and Jesus inside you. The anointing is the ability to see the truth of the Word of God! You have the mind of Christ. If you abide in him you are holy and santified!

Dont agree with you at all on this one!
1Cr 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
1Cr 10:22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
If someone is not preaching the sound truth a person should not have anything to do with it! If you take bits and pieces of this falacy and that falacy you may eventually provoke God!
Luk 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake [it], and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luk 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup [is] the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

This one really gets people's goat! Communion! It has nothing to do with eating bread and drinking grape juice! It has everything to do with studying the Word of God!
Jhn 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
So we eat on the truth of the Word and have communion with Jesus or we eat with false teaching with demons! If we have sin in us when we have communion in the Word what happens?
1Cr 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of [that] bread, and drink of [that] cup.
1Cr 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
1Cr 11:30 For this cause many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Why is it so many Christian are dying from cancer and cant get healed? Maybe they should examine themselves before they partake of the bread of life the Word of God the Cup of the Lord that if they drink of will never go thirsty. I am saved even though I am full of sin. Then goes and reads the Word bringing damnation to themselves!
1Jo 1:1¶That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone];
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
We were born to be inhabited on this earth by the Spirit of God! We are to be part of a Holy temple! What kind? A fitly framed or closely together! Not spread in 20 different interpratations! We are fitly by doing what the Word of God says establishing a foundation that was given to us by the apostles, prophets and Jesus. A good example that we are not to rightly divide the Word and just use certain parts. Jesus is the corner stone. We have to line up to him to be used as a spiritual stone in the House of God! If we line up to Jesus we are lining up to the truth of the Word of God as taught by the apostles, Jesus and the prophets. They all had 1 interpratation!
