Default Questions for Christians -- creation related.

I'm focusing this questions on Christians because I want their the varying opinions/interpretations. This is not intended to be a debate between Christians and athiests about creation.

Not trying to be rude, just focused.

So here it is. How old was Adam, say 5 minutes after God created him?

Your question assumes that all Christians accept the creation story literally, i.e. that there was a moment of creation. Many, myself included, do not. Though I don't pretend to know the scientific details of how God created man, I do accept that He did it. Was it through evolution? I think that is highly likely, in fact I think it is the best explanation we have.

So regarding your qustion, I can't have a precise answer. All I can say is that at some point man came to be. How or exactly when I don't know and quite frankly I don't think it's very important to know.

5 minutes old, LOL.
I got news for Sylvan if you don't believe what the Bible says you are not a Christian , and you dishonor God.

...and if you don't interpret the bible the same way I do, you are not a Christian and dishonor God. At least that's how some Christians see it. Right Kosherboy?

Males don't reach full maturity until age 30, so biologically, that was his representative age. As for Eve, it would be 24.

I don't know for sure how old Adam would have been at creation, but I do think that God would have made him old enough to think clearly, speak intelligently and carry out any tasks required for everyday living. I would think he was a full grown, but young, man.

Sylvan, bare with me on this.

Is he 5 minutes old, or 20-something, or 30? I am fascinated by this. More insights or discussions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd like to help you out but like I said, I simply have no answer. I take the story of Adam and Eve as allegory so with that in mind your question can't be answered in the literal sense you're asking it. Allegorically speaking I would of course agree with DaveH as that is consistent with the Genesis story.

I agree with Alex, five minutes after creation he was five minutes old. He was'nt created in infancy however as woman hadn't been given to chidbirth yet nor had sin entered the world . . . .Adam would have been as fresh as a baby but mature by our standards.

So allegorically you are a sinner or not ?
And Allegorically Christ paid for your sin , because allegorically Adam is just a fictional character so sin is fiction and Salvation is just fictional , but you are allegorically A Christian because you like your pastor , who allegorically represents and allegorical god, but the food and fellowship in Church is allegorically good ?????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????
