I have spent a lot of late nights wondering the same thing. I am sorry to hear of your troubles. Be glad she is alive, and is doing better. Peace.

Yea-Hath God said?? Brother, you know too much about the scriptures to ask such questions. This has to be the result of the wicked one speaking unto you, and you responding as Mother Eve did by listening unto him.
God made a perfect garden, gave it to man to enjoy. Who spoiled that perfection?? Did God break the relationship, or did man?? You know God didn't lie, or deceive Man. Man simply took matters into his own hands and told God to take a hike!!
God has promised that the ones who overcome (the trials, tribulations, temptations, ect of this life) and will endure unto the end, will be restored unto a place of perfection again where there will be no pain, suffering, heartaches, and all tears will be wiped away. Thank God, I don't hear her questioning The Rock of her salvation. I don't hear her pointing a finger of doubt and disbelief in the face of the One who died for her on Calvary. If she can have faith in her time of tribulation, Shouldn't that build faith in the one who has health and isn't suffering??
Remember from whence thou art fallen and repent. The Father is looking down the lane for his prodical son. Swallow that pride and go home while there is yet time.
What shall seperate me from the love of Christ? Count it all dung just to win Christ.
There are those here that still love you Brother.

tribulation workth patience, in patience you possess your soul. Unfortunately we all are not born with this in our soul.

It is nothing new. John the Baptist was put to death. Stephen was stoned to death. Saul of Tarsus persecuted many to death. As Paul, he himself was martyred.
Extra-Biblical writings indicate that most of the disciples were martyred.

Christians of every age have suffered trials, tribulations and troubles of all kinds. Right now, I know several saints who are suffering with cancer and are near death. They remain faithful. Their hope is sure. Expect trouble, it goes with the deal. It always has. Christians are not called to comfort.

The answer to human suffering is not an easy one. Every person will undergo a certain amount of pain in his life. Some more than others. How, then are we to deal with it? Our choices are only two: become bitter and angry, asking, "Why me?" or accept the suffering with faith, courage and dignity.

I heard an explanation on this not too long ago. It had to deal with the stigmata, and why God would want holy people to suffer (I hope I don't get too many Protestant hackles up with this). It was explained thus: Who would Jesus ask to help him with His load? Would He ask total strangers, or His best friends? This is why so many saints have been martyred, or stricken with the stigmata. If we as christians are to imitate Christ, how far are we willing to go? Are we willing to help Him carry His cross? Are we willing to enter into His suffering with Him? Certainly none of us would choose to suffer intentionally, but what do we do with that suffering when God sees fit to grace us with it? And, make no mistake, it IS a grace to suffer for God. Paul had made many references to "sacrificing his own flesh".
Another point to ponder is, what good has come from suffering? What lessons are taught? Who is given the grace to care for the sick, or comfort the grieving, if suffering & grieving do not exist? If it weren't for suffering (And Jesus knew there would be), we would lose the corporal works of mercy. Works laid out for us before we are even born. How are we to "show our faith through our works" as Paul says, if there are no works to be done?
I don't know if this helps at all, or if it's just going to piss you off some more, but remember that God DOES have a plan, even if we mere mortals are too close to the situation to see it.

I don't know that I can give you a surefire answer. It would be simple to expect that God loves people and therefore would not allow them to suffer. God could save the day anytime we are in danger, trouble, suffering or not having things go right. Of course, if God did that, He wouldn't really be letting us have free choice. We would be making choices and then having God change things when our mistakes began to caught up with us. This is a poor analogy but it would be kind of like teaching your kid to drive but not really letting them get behind the wheel. At some point, we would either have free choice or we wouldn't.

Getting back to your original question, God hasn't sent those health problems to your sister but He listens to her and loves her very much. God may not heal her (or He may) but God is surely interested in saving her soul for eternity which lasts a lot longer than the few meager years we spend on this earth.

I realize this doesn't give you the answer you're looking for but honestly, no person can. If you still want an answer to your question, pray to God about it and ask Him to send His Holy Spirit to you and answer your question. Hopefully this helps some.

I think the only way I try to explain it was the sin in the Garden of Eden. God put us in a perfect place free from suffering, but because of the sin in the Garden God removed His hand of protection from us. And we are subject to the laws of this earth.
