Default Oral Roberts

I didn't see anyone post the death of Oral Roberts. Hate him or loved him you got to admit he made quite an impact on the Christian world.

Frankly I liked his old stuff when he used to preach in tents, then when he got the the smell of money on his hands I think he went nutz.. I think his son Richard is as wacky as Oral was.

Thousands are expected to attend a public memorial service Monday, Dec. 21 for well-known evangelist and university founder Oral Roberts.
The service will be held at the Mabee Center at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., at 2:00 p.m. CT. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. for public seating.
Watch the Oral Roberts Memorial Service streamed live today at 3:00 p.m. Eastern, 2:00 p.m. Central, 1:00 p.m. Mountain and 12 Noon Pacific Time. Just click the link at the top of the CBNNews.com home page.
Roberts died Tuesday of complications from pneumonia, according to a spokesman. He was 91.
The prominent Christian leader was being treated in Newport Beach, Calif., after falling at his home, Saturday. Doctors reported he was in stable condition even though he suffered broken bones and a slight case of pneumonia. His illness, however, soon took a turn for the worst.

Dr. Vinson Synan is a professor of church history at Regent University. He appeared on the Wednesday edition of the CBN Newschannel's Midday program to share more on Oral Roberts' legacy. Click play to watch the interview.
Earlier this year, The 700 Club's Scott Ross spoke with Oral Roberts. Click here to watch that interview.

Was he the one that was threatened by a 900 foot tall Jesus that if he did not raise a certain amount of money for the church he would be "called home" (killed)?

Yeah, something like that. I didn't realize he just died--I thought he passed on some time ago.

IMO he did a lot more harm than good.

It was three million dollars, I don't know if he ever raised it or not, but if a 900 foot Jesus talked to me I'd do whatever he asked... heck if a 900 foot NBA star asked me to do something, I'm sure I'd do it..

I don't really know what dearly departed Oral was smoking, but I'm pretty sure it was illegal.

IIRC, it was getting down to the wire and someone sent in a big check for the balance.

Oh we know why you watched Jim and Tammy...
Since you worked for B.P. you thought that Tammy's face might be a new source of renewable energy!
