I can only make a general statement: they're enumerations. The ten are given at Mt. Sinai on the tablets. The others flow from them, and the two greatest commandments. Example: there's a precept of not seeking revenge--it's obviously related to the love of neighbor and the precept against killing another person.
There are others who can probably speak to this better than I can, but that's the general thrust.
Unless one is keeping the 10 that he has heard about, is the other 590 or so more relevient?
If one has the 2 that Jesus mentioned, written in his heart, he will keep them all naturally.
When one is born again and becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus, old things pass away and all things become new. The things he once loved, he now hates. The things he once hated, he now loves. He is now a member in the body of Christ. He is dead, yet he lives. Yet not him that lives, but Christ liveth in him. he now has the mind of Christ, The Holy Spirit of God within to lead and guide him. The power of all heaven and earth within (grace) to resist and overcome every temptation of the wicked one. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. He can do all things through Christ who strengthens him.
Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Walking in The Spirit, with the Law written in the heart=the righteousness of the Law fulfilled in us, all 600 plus commandments fulfilled by just walking with God.
So just reach out and take God by his outstreched hand and begin to walk with him. He will lead you and guide you in the way ye ought to go.
There are 613 commandments many having to do with Sabbath observance and many imposing the death penalty for violation. If you will recall, Jesus dealt with this when the woman, caught in adultery, was brought to him. Remember what they said? "Moses says she should be stoned. What do you say?" Well Jesus responded, "if any among you is without sin, let him cast the first stone." Well he knew that none of those people who stood before him was "without sin," given the incredible number of ways one could violate the Law. So they all sneaked away without stoning the adulterous woman.
Note that Jesus did not condone what she had done. His last words were her to "go and don't do it again."
I got this interpretation from my husband. He's working right now and told me if I interrupt him he'll give me a spanking.

That's a tough one. The way I read it, there were lots of laws, but 10 commandments. Christ kept the Law perfectly (else He wouldn't have been the perfect and spotless sacrifice), so they couldn't all be commandments. If they had been commandments, He would have had to participate (he couldn't refuse a command) in the stoning rather than giving the woman a pardon. JMO.

He didn't give her a pardon Chad. ...Deleted by CalHunter... He said "Let any among you who is without sin cast the first stone." Then when everyone sneaked away he said "Go and sin no more." ...Deleted by CalHunter...

There is absolutely no way that anyone could read that passage and conclude that Jesus gave her a pardon. Your response is absolutely meaningless and totally unrelated to the passage under discussion and to my response.
Obviously I can, and I know I'm not alone.
It's simple the way I see it. Under the Law--which at the time both Christ and the woman were living under--the punishment for the woman's transgression (adultry) was death by stoning. Christ obviously didn't say "It's ok, I forgive you", but he did in essence give the woman a pardon from the punishment by saying what had to be said to keep the stoning from happening. Then, as you said, he told her to go and sin no more. The punishment was pardoned by Christ's actions.
It is very much related to the topic header. Hopefully I was plain enough for you to understand it this time.
