Default Thoughts on loving the unloveable Matt.5:

Yesterday as my family and I studied Matthew 5..I asked the Lord.."How do you love these folks?"

I love asking God questions..he always answers them,,when I least expect it.Actually the Word says ..hold on..let me get my Word..I'm in the classroom,.
" But I say unto you , Love your enemies , bless them that curse you , do good to them that hate you , and pray for them which despitefully use you; that ye may be the children of your Heavenly Father which is in Heaven;for He maketh the sun to rise on the evil and on the good, ans sendeth rain on the just and the unjust. For if ye love them which love you , what reward have ye.. ? do not even the publicans the same? BE YE THEREFORE PERFECT ,EVEN AS YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT.

I thought Lord..how do I love my enemies..ABout 2 hours later he showed me..My wife has been very sick and is taking about 10 pills per day which really messes her up..Her vision is going as well..As she opened a bag of cat food to pour into containers..the dried food went everywhere and out of her mouth proceeded cursing, and screaming..and crying some of the words were thepretty bad words..

I just sat there..finger picking the guitar..very softly..it didn't phase me one bit..I didn't judge here..I felt bad for her..The Lord spoke to my heart..in this same way you love your wife ..love others..You naturally would have judged anyone else..but showed mercy and understanding to your wife..Love others with the same compassion that you love your wife..{ -;
God bless,

Appreciate it Denny,

My wife said a powerful thing last Sunday..We tend to just love those whom we recieve something from..Although this is correct..this is also the natural man..The natural man is certainly going to be kind to the man who lets him hunt on his property ..or to the man who has the same theological beleifs..BUT let it be known..this is not the love of God..this is not the love in which we will be called the Children of God..

The love of God has no barriers or predjudices..the love of God comes from your Spirit filled inner man..Fact..the love of God makes no sense to the natural man..thus the reason I sought God on the subject..It makes ZERO sense..to the religious man..thus the reason why one must be born again and living in the Spirit..your fruit..will be unconditional love..and 1 John says "By this ye know that ye are in Him..and by this ye know that ye have passed from death unto life.." This love "Barely notices the faults of others" 1 cor. 13

This love is radical ..not of yourself and covers a multitude of sins..

God bless,

Chuck,

Possibly one of the best posts I've ever read. Thank you for sharing that.

Appreciate the kind words Brother Jim,
I'll be happy when I can grasp this concept fully.

If there is one thing that the Lord has taught me, it's that Love is a commitment!

Absolutely! Before Miriam started sleeping through the night, my husband would get up the minute she cried, change her diaper, and bring her to me to nurse. The first week I was so tired I would fall asleep and he would wake me up and help when it was time to change sides. After Miriam fell asleep, he would put her back in her crib. There is no question in my mind that my husband loves me.

Love is something you show by your actions.

We sheep agree completely with that sentiment

Agreed totally. But I often question what is included in the term "Your actions". (Talking to all, not just DLG) Does that only include "tolerance" of non christian activites? Or does it only mean, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but RATHER REBUKE them? Does it only refer to giving alms unto the poor? Does it mean compromising convictions for a false unity?
We appear to have tip-toed CAREFULLY through the tulips for a few days, but where does love begin? What is love" Who is love? What is HIS attutude unto sin and willful immorality? When, where, and how does "Gods Love" withdraw, and become compromising sin?

I don't concern myself very much with the "rebuking." It seems to me that there are a lot of folks around that take great delight in "rebuking" so I leave it to them and focus on the positive and glorious aspects of the faith.

May The Sheep Be With You
