Man things have changed around here I can deal with the new look but I tried coming in last night and it kept kicking me off I couldn't stay logged in. At least today I got on.
One question though how do I get back into the forum I was on without hitting my back button on my toolbar I haven't been able to figure that out yet. And When did they switch over to this? Okay sorry that was 2.
Anywho things should really wind down now around my house or really pick up soon I am not sure. A guy Josh has done some work for just bought a store in town here and there will be a deli on one side and a rec type room for kids on the other, and he mentioned to Josh my name for running it. Of course this will be ideal as long as he allows my kids to be at work with me, being it is geared for kids I think it would be okay but that is for another time to find out the details.
My garden is doing well. My peas are getting close to the picking and my potatoes flowered. My watermelon is coming along nicely. I didn't get as much spinach to come in as I would have liked but that's okay. The lettuce is plentiful. The onions are doing good, but I need some heat for my corn they sure could use it.
Conventions,
Oh it was so much fun. Josh's aunt Naomi was there and we got to see Louie and Jane, and Spike (Tauno), and a few of the guys he used to live with down south. And I got to see Muriel, and the kids. The sermons were all great the ones that I got to go to. I got to go to the one Josh's grandpa was preaching and a few others. Our VBS day for the kids was awesome. The pastor we had doing the bible lessons was amazing Our Theme was I'm in God's Garden (growing in faith, hope, and love) We had 102 kids, I can't believe it 102. You see our church can be really legalistic so it was a feat to have so many kids there. We thought we would have maybe 75 tops. Of course we planned for 150 so that we would have enough for everybody so there was plenty. I am glad we had so many kids show up and they loved it.
How did we get so many to come in such a legalistic setting? POLITICS. Reino Mauno was the pastor we picked for the Bible Lessons, for one he is a man, for two he lives in one of the areas that is very skeptical of these "going ons" and three he is a member of the central board. The board thanked the Kingston Church for having that time for the kids and the parents kept telling us that they hope the next church holding conventions does it again next year. I hope they do too, the kids loved it and it gave them something to do, and someone who can teach them on their level.
All the Finish and Swedish kids have returned home. They had been here for about a month and only a few were ready to go home and a lot of the kids cried because they wanted to stay here longer. The people who took care of the youth activities did an awesome job.
Oh and please continue to pray for Emily and Carl. There baby was due last weekend, on Sat. I believe. And not to long ago the daycare that she was working at shut down and she transfered to one in a different town and they put her in the infant room. She said it is really hard but she needs to work through it. The little kids go to Regan's gravesite almost every week after church. Often times that is where I find my Ariel when it is time to leave.
good to hear from you, hope all continues to go well with your decsision on the store and with everything else you got going on, garden sounds good, would be glad to send you some heat your way, it has been really warm here and our corn is really reaching for the sun...althought the last few days have been very pleasent...
take care and continued prayers for all
Keith
