Let me see if I can ask a couple of question without getting flogged by the scripture police. Often we miss the real message by assuming there isn't any truth there other than what we first had handed down to us. One plus one=two. That is math, it is true. It will always be the truth, BUT does that knowledge warrant a degree in math? Years of higher learning will use that truth as a foundation upon which to build. As simple as that foundation is, it must be correct and right if the building is to stand the test.
John 3:10-21 must all be taken together to get the complete message from God. V16 For God so loved. Who loved? God Loved! How many Gods do we have? To us there is but One God, The Father. What did God give? His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Believeth in him speaks of who? The begotten Son, V15.
Is believing in itself sufficient? NO! Jesus added this truth into the mix, If ye believe on me as the scripture hath said. Hath said refering to what had already been put into writings, (Old Testament). If one believes scripturally he SHOULD be saved. It didn't say one couldn't be lost, but that the knowledge of the scriptures and believing them would be suffient to save those who continue in the truth.
John 3:16 reveals a glimpes of Gods great Grace that appears unto all men, bringing salvation. How? Teaching us how to live soberly, righteously and Godly in this present life.
Ro 11:22 If thou continue in his goodness: Grace and goodness stand together.
Grace brings the true light that now shineth. Sadly many love darkness rather, (more than) light. Why? Because their deeds are evil!! Isolating John 3:16 offers a ray of hope when standing alone, but in the contex of scriptures before and after it, The covers too short and narrow.
What have we done with Gods Grace??

Jud 1:4For certain men whose condemnation was written about [fn] long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
What have we done with Gods grace? We have turned it into a license to sin and deny Christ! How do we deny Christ. By not accepting what he has to offer! Freedom! Grace is the power we receive from God when we are weak! It is for overcoming sin! It is part of the mystery of Christ! Then we say once saved always saved, grace covers it all. All that does is make a whitewashed tomb. Clean on the outside but full of sin and death on the inside. Dont you not know a little yeast works through the whole batch. Purge out you sins and be Holy for God is Holy!

Brother!! This is good stuff. A little tough for those who are just cutting their spiritual teeth, but like a good steak, a little chewing only enhances the flavor.
Grace, like love, is conditional upon Gods terms on which it is promised and given. It is offered unto all mankind, the condition is found here, "whosoever will". Will=excepts, or as John said, "believeth on him".
This is the only way to receive "freedom". It is the way of Grace, "Ye shall KNOW the truth, and the truth when believed, and obeyed, shall break the sinful chains of bondage and set one free. He, (whosoever) the Son, "Word of God+logos", sets free is free IN DEED.
Sounds like Mark there instead of John, "He that believeth, AND is baptized, shall be saved. James puts it this way, "faith without works is dead, being alone". James then seals the deal by these words, "to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Jesus said, "If ye abide in me, (The Word made flesh) and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will". He that abideth not in the doctrine of God, (teachings, words, guideance, and instruction of God) hath not God.
Christians bound by sin?? Not if we believe the scriptures. Ye must be born again. He that is born of God does not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him. The sower sowed the seed which is THE WORD OF GOD. Sin is the transgression of the law. Not Moses law, it was and is Gods law. Acts declares that He, (GOD) gives The Holy Ghost unto those that obey him. Ye shall receive power AFTER that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. The Word is LIFE unto all that find it.
The light shineth into the darkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not.
Jesus , The word was the life and the life was the light of men.
Walk in the light while ye have light. The true light now shineth more and more unto the coming of a perfect day.
Have we trampled the Grace of God under foot? Done dispite unto the Spirit of Grace? OR is there some who heard and said, here am I Lord, send me??
Grace is often defined as the "unmerrited favor" of God. While we were "YET" sinners, Christ died for the ungodly. Not one was worthy of such a great price as was paid to condemn sin in the flesh. The rending of the "Vail" from top to bottom opened the door for all who would hear Gods voice calling could now come into the presense of God, by the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb. Grace is available unto all, but the catch here is this: God doesn't save against the will of the individual in question. "If any man hear my voice AND open the door, I will come in and sup with him. This is salvation! This is the starting point, hear the gospel, believe the gospel, and then LIVE the gospel! He that endureth unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Where does love, (Charity) enter the picture? It first appeared when He first loved us. We didn't choose him, he chose us, and gave his life, (tasted death for every man). The grace of God that bringeth salvation! Now that love, charity, Grace of God is revealed unto us. Now that love, charity, ect. which has appeared is excepted into our hearts and we give our lives unto the one who first gave himself for us. By the Grace of God, the unmeritted favor and great love wherewith he has loved us, we now receive power to become the Sons of God. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord. Born again, not of the flesh, but of The Spirit.
He that is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him and he cannot commit sin for he is born of God.
Commit being translated, practice pre=medicated, thought and planned out, evil works and lusts of the flesh.
Salvation is derived from the word, souzo, (spl?) meaning delieverance for the soul, mind, and body. Calvary was and is a complete work. Having to be continually delievered, set free, ect. reflects a failure to allow Gods grace to have its free course in our lives.
Repent ye and believe the Gospel, and when thou art converted, strengthen the brethern.
