When he finished 1/2 the Russians in this huge Red Army Center gave their hearts to Jesus..so the message is quite compelling...He has wit,,God's Spirit and is very Smart and humble all wraped into one..Remnds me of Gary Cooper.

The Scripture Lesson is found in John 6:66-68 "“
66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. John 6:67Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
I had the privilege of speaking in Moscow, Russia in the Red Army Theater. In my flesh I was intimidated, yet in my spirit trusting God. For in that huge building were portraits of Lenin, Stalin and many other communist leaders. The building was full of Russian soldiers and their wives "“ they had been taught that there was no such thing as God, to hate Americans and to glorify Communism.
What message would God have me speak to this people? After prayer, the Lord through the Holy Spirit, said tell them why you believe in Jesus. In verse 29 of chapter six of John, Peter says we are sure that Thou art the Christ, and I wanted to share four reasons with those Russians why I believe in Jesus. Prior to this portion of scripture Jesus had just fed the five thousand, but as He began to say unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, and go into the deeper message, many folks left. He asked them, "śWould you leave too?"ť Peter said, "śNo, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life."ť Shall we turn to atheism which says that the clouds have created themselves? Atheism is not a sign of intelligence, for even the early philosophers believed in God, such as Socrates, Newton, Galileo and Einstein. Shall we turn to philosophy? Words we can"™t even understand and that never satisfy the heart. Shall we turn to materialism? I"™ve talked to the mayor of Moscow and told him that it"™s neither Communism nor Capitalism "“ for both are just forms of materialism. God made you for God and I have a Bible for everyone here in this building. Shall we turn to false religion? No, if you go to Mohammed"™s grave, he is still in it. Jesus is the only one who"™s grave is not occupied. Only Jesus alone can meet the longing in man"™s heart.
Why do we believe in Jesus? Why are we willing to die for our faith?
1) The fact of history
Christian or non-Christian, all the historians mentioned that there was a Jesus who lived during the governorship of Pontius Pilate. Jesus splits history - every time you write down a date it confirms that Jesus was here. The early Church"™s central theme was Jesus rose from the dead. Some said maybe they were hallucinating "“ 500 at one time? Some said maybe he was a ghost "“ they felt Him, He ate with them. Men will live for a lie, but not die for a lie.
2) Scriptural Reasons
It is written in the prophets, how do we know that the Bible is correct? There are five proofs of the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures:
a) Fulfilled prophecy
b) The wonderful unity of the Bible written in three different languages
c) The longevity "“ countries have tried to do away with the Bible. Even in Russia it was against the law to have a Bible. The Bible has withstood all of that.
d) The accuracy "“ Science proves the Bible.
e) It"™s words are Spirit and Life and reading it will transform your life. Jesus Christ is the central theme in the Bible. He is unique in that He is sinless, He never modified a statement, never asked for advice, never justified Himself when misunderstood, never confessed sin or asked forgiveness.
3) Spriritual Reasons
The Spirit quickeneth (John 6:63). The human mind cannot comprehend who Jesus is. I John 5:6-8 "“ The Spirit bears witness in our hearts. We cannot believe on Jesus without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes these truths real to you. If you want the Holy Spirit in your life, just ask God for Him. God doesn"™t say if you can"™t believe it"™s just hard luck. God says if you want to believe I will help you to believe. You may refuse to believe, but if you really want truth just ask.
4) Personal Reasons
I believe in Jesus for personal reasons. "śTaste and see that the Lord is good."ť Now if I just cut off a nice big piece of hot apple pie you can argue with me all you want to whether that apple pie is real or not, but I have the witness inside myself "“ I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good. "śLord, to whom shall we go?"ť We are sure and I know Him personally. The best people I know know Him and this is why I believe in Jesus.
