I have had prayers answered and some not. I have asked God for guidance. What I do question is how do you its really from God. How do you know its not your own willing?

You don't ..but I'm reading a book that I wished I had read when I was first saved. It's called the Power of Positive Thinking..by Norman Vincent Peale...PLesae pick up a copy...It's a Christian book.He's also the founder of Guidepost. That book will GREATLY help Fred.
Fred , the easiest and quickest way that I can tell you that you can discern the voice of his Spirit..is first...
A. Read about 10 chapters of the New Testament everyday..Read it until God's Word begins to speak to you from the Bible..
B. Go into a room..close the door and get on your knees and talk to God ...and listen...WHIle talking to God...thank him as well for all the wonderful things Hes givin you ..such as His Son Jesus to die for your sins..a place to hunt ..your family etc..and then spend a few minutes in silence..
No one knows for sure if that little voice in your head is GOd or not..That's why it's called faith..but as you begin letting that little voice lead you and you see things work out..you will in time know for a certain ..that it was God indeed..
That book I reccomended is excellent ..and very easy reading.

PS For serious issues...when you really need a desperate answer..I fast..drink water only..usually one day is all it takes. At about 2:30PM your body is like blah...BUT your mind is still so still that it begins to day dream..and in that stillness..whisper your prayer to God..and relax..I find He speaks very plainly when we are real still Psalm 46..10Be still, and know that I am God
deerhunter, I'm not tryingto be a smart alex here, but what does the bible teach? It says that we have the mind of Christ, Right? Let this mind be in you which also was in Christ. Isn't this sothat we may be able know the things of God? The things that freely given us of God? When self proclaimed teachers quote the saying of Jesus and firmly declare that "His Sheep" KNOW his voice, then state that none really knows if they are hearing from God, We have a serious problem. 1. We have ears to hear, but we hear not, (our choice to not hear) 2. Our ears have waxed dull of hearing,(we want to hear other things)3. We are not his sheep, (Gods voice is foreign and stange).
The bible plainly says, "I have esposed you unto one husband, even unto Christ". If a man doesn't know his wifes voice, and the wife doesn't know the voice of her husband, Who are they sleeping with??
I full expect to be hit again with the accusation of being a carnal, trouble maker, who has not the Spirit of God, but come on guys--Get on talking terms with you maker and God. Quit bragging about visions, revelations, deleiverence, great knowledge and understanding and start talking with your best friend. I am being merciful, see what Jesus said, John 8:44

Chuck, There is a big difference in "attacking someone" and exposing a seriously mis-spoken statement. How would one know Jesus if he appeared unto him, and not know his voice if he spoke? And to say "no one can know!!" his will???
There can be 100 women in a room, and with my eyes closed, I will tell you when my wife speaks. Jesus said his sheep know his voice. To say no one really knows is to deny the very scriptures. Ye MUST be born again of the Spirit, if you hope to hear the voice of the Spirit. Carnal men understand the voice of the carnal, but not the voice of the Spirit. Walk in the Spirit, pray in the Spirit, mind Spiritual things, know the mind of the Spirit, hear the voice of the Spirit. No one else may believe it, but I am still going to proclaim that there is a real christian experience. That there is a God that hears, and answers prayer. A God who rewards those who ask, gives to them that seek, and is found of them that earnestly seek him. Regardless of who says God has forsaken and turned his back on his creation, I declare him to be the same yesterday, today, and forever. If that is immuture and carnal, so be it.

I couldn't read your last reply as the Lord prompted me through His Word to "advoid those who cause divisions and strife"..you are blocked..To communicate with you would be a sin..according to the Word..For your health sake's and salvation's sake I councel you to repent sir of your bitterness..

My question is how do you know that it's the Lord prompting you rather than it just being you being all offended? Have you ever considered that you could be the one who flames and causes divisions? . . . . ....."Bitterness", interesting that you would use that term.
GREAT book, GREAT Adrian Rogers, but theirs isn't that still small voice. That voice is indwelling and is closer than a brother. Surely, you know Him.

i have heard a story (not sure if its true or not) of a women continually praying for patience and she ended up having triplets, not sure if that was the answer she was wanting, but i am sure that having triplets would foster patience into someones life
