I and, my whole family are members of a church.
I had gallbladder surgery, on Wed June 10th 2009
Both the Paster, and Youth Paster, said they would both be there.
And it has been three days since the surgery.
And not even a phone call, from any one from the church.
What would be the normal way a church would or should, act in this type of case?
Thank You jrbsr

Shouldn't happen, but it does. We don't see all that could have happened to hinder good intentions. I hope this doesn't apply, but for others sake, I will ask anyway. We haven't been guilty of the same neglect when it is others who have been down and waiting on us to come see then have we? Have we let the Pastor spend hours in prayer, study, and preparation, so as to have a good sermon for us on Sunday, and we fail to show up as we promised for the service have we?
We can't live the christian life for others, AND others can't stop us from being Christ like. Forget about rewards, visits, flowers, and let God teach you a life long lesson about about this. Its not what others can do for me, its what I can do for others. As you do it unto one of these little ones, you do it unto me.
Good bless and a speedy recovery.
Thank You for the reply.
I am not upset, its just the youth paster called my cell phone.
My wife had it while I was in surgery.
He said that he was on the way to the hospital, and would be there in 30 to 45 minutes.
Then never showed up.

Johnny
Well Johnny..this was a sentence from your 1st post.It certainly would be no sin if you were upset a little..but I would call him to see if he was in an accident or something..I didn't realize he was on his way..
However..with the original thought..about the norm..If I was Johnny I'd probably be tempted to be angry..but after 33 years as a Christian..I've learned it's really not worth it. I think we tend to put more stock in peole than what we should. It was said about Jesus in John 2.."And he committed himself to no man..for He knew what was in man." Man will let you down Johnny BUT honestly Jesus will never let you down..He's a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. I beleive the book on here I mentioned would be a big blessing to you Johnny..Power to Positive Thinking..It's changed my life..I've been hurt by people so much I thought God was using them to chastize me..for 33 years.[&o]..no sir Johnny..God loves you brother and has promiced you abundant life..
i am amazed when i go to see folks and find out that i was the only one to call or come by, kinda hard to figure out, but i know who i got to answer to, and regardless of how much other stuff i need to be doing i always feel better after a trip to see a friend or family memeber at the hospital, nursing home
