I sensed the Lord drawing me back into His Word early this morning before anything else..Let's get right into the Word..which will shed some light on why folks hate us..and why abiding in the Word is the only way to joy..I will be sharing some nuggets the Lord gace me today from John 15 ,and 16.. Let's get blessed..
I will say this.I was reading from the King James..which was compiled by Charles Stanley. Some of the 1611 words which may be slightly different have the Greek Word beside it.THIS helped lot..Again, the entire 3 chapters are rich but I will only touch on the nuggets I recieved this morning..
John 15
1. Importance of reading the Word.. 1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. I'm really into gardening ..as much as I hunt and fish so this illustration really hits home..Jesus being the vine..AND apart from Him it's IMPOSSILBE to bear fruit..These verses show to things..we are either getting pruned or cut off.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. NOW!! I like that..and as you folks are reading ..even NOW ye are clean through the Word.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. WOW!!! again..the branch {Which we are } CAN NOT bear fruit by ourselves..ONLY AS WE ABIDE / READ HIS WORD } Satan seems to work overtime to keep us from having Bible time..he will let you fast...talk about God..sing about God....but he does his best to keep you from opening up that Bible..have you ever noticed that..That Word which is able to clean you and cause you to bear forth fruit.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. WARNING for those who don't abide in the Word..they are burned. SO..the commandment here is to KEEP IN GOD'S WORD.
2. Fruit of abiding in the Word.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments,or WORDSye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 1 John 2:5 says .whosoever keepeth my Words truly the love of God is perfected in Him..
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. OK Christ spoke "these things" that we would have joy and not depression. what things.? His Word...are you unhappy?? then get in His Word..first thing..and see what happens.
The Reason WhyWe May Feel Bummed Out At Times..
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. This word hate in the Greek means disrespected..How many are disrespected at times.. [/b]How does it feel? Well..according to God's Word it's not abnormal..it's normal..let us read on.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth { Disrespects}you.
Summary... His commandment is first and foremost..to put His Word first place in your life..Can you imagine breaking off a branch and commanding that branch to love and be Christ like..IMPOSSIBLE..The love and fruit will come as we abide. And if your disrespected..that is totally normal.IF you were of the world ..the world would love you..but rather you have been chosen / ordained to bear forth fruit..Joy?/ you bet Let's look at one more verse..[/b]
John 16..These things{ What things?? the Words in the Bible}I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. Did you get that..These words are for our peace..no other place can we find peace except in God's precious Word..Satan knows this and will do his utmost to keep us too busy to read our Bibles..In the world ye shall have tribulation:{ Guaranteed...been there many times..in the Word we WILL have trouble and depression}but be of good cheer;SMILE[/i][/b]I have overcome the world.and Jesus is the Word..the Word in us will make us overcomers as well.
1 John 2 :14 I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
God can and will heal, repair, fix, by whatever means nessesary, whether physically or spiritually. With depression, (and IMO all will have some degree of depression at some point in their lives) it isn't always a spiritual problem, but rather a physical problem. Sometimes one needs a physical healing and not a demon cast out. Other times, the physical may be functioning perfectly, but is being attacked by a "spirit" of depression.
Actually, the main purpose of the post was to show the importance of abiding in the Word of God..Depression will come to anyone who is not reading their Bible on a daily basis..guaranteed.
lots of good info there Brothers, pray daily for the sick, that includes people suffering from depression[&o]a truly terrible condition to be suffering thru[&o]...
there are avenues of help, if you or someone you know is suffering seek help for that person, remember we never know the burden our Brothers and Sisters are toting around with them

My wife suffers from depression, she see's her shrink ( she calls her nut doctor) monthly and is on medication. With the med's she's fine without them I want to perform an exorcism on her.
She loves the lord with all her heart and is dedicated to serving Him, however there is some sort of chemical imbalance in her brain. So she takes her medicine, and life is good. (thank God for the medicine)
I really seriously doubt if I've ever been truly depressed. I use that word alot when I'm down in the dumps sometimes.
Jesus was a man of many sorrows..We are told in Matthew 6 that each day has troubles of it's own..Jesus himself was a man of many sorrows..and David said his enemies were more than the hairs of hus head.Jacob said said..his days of sorrow outnumbered his days of joy..It's very normal for the Christian man/women to go through valleys..
However, the Word does tell us some things to do to have victory in those times ..but certainly there is nothing wrong with us when we are unhappy at times..Hey ..we are as sheep to the slaughter..baa..baa..baa
