The Lord brought a Word of deliverance to me..and I'd like to pass it on to anyone else that may be troubled.
Friday was the last day of school for 72 day s!!YES!!and yet what should be joy can be pure H E L L if you are not handling affictions properly. For the last two days I've been extremely depressed. My bosses don't like me or actually anyone else.It's not totally their fault they are honestly instructed to be as hard as they can. ALthough my evaluation was outstanding and my students did exceptionally well..that didn't bring a smile..or nothing. I've contacted another school and I'm hoping for an interview to leave the school..Still living in the depression..
I listened to two great messages from Adrian Rogers andtalked with my wife and that was no help..I prayed earlier and the depression was still hanging on.
We just got back from driving toa Walmart far away. And THEN...I got a Word from the Lord that filled my heart with JOY ...WHile I was looking around in the fishing department at Walmart the Lord spoke so clear to my heart.He said ," Chuck, stop resisting...when you resist the hook goes down into the bone bringing much pain..but when you stop resisting..it's like a sowing needle going through a very small layer of skin..simply a pinch."
That my friends brought a fountain of joy springing up in my heart as I can certainly deal with a small prick rather than a dagger. I thank God for this word of wisdom. .We have had many retire early because of the recent change in the school system..I had been brainstorming hard on how I could retire early..until the Lord spoke that word to me..and then what had seemed like a mountain was actually just a mole hill..
1 Peter 5:8Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
Romans 12:21Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
PLease allow me to go on a little deeper.How do we resist evil . The resisting is talking about the affliction and dwelling on it. As we stew on the trials it goes deep in our spirit bringing health issues and depression.RATHER ..do not resist..Let that thing only get through your skin..for below that skin is your Born Again Spirit man..This is why Paul and Silas could sing hymns in Act.16 in a dark dungeon.Although their flesh was beatin their spirits sang out praises to God. If they would have talked about how wrongly they were treated they would have been defeated..but rather..the scriptures says"This light affliction worketh for us a much more weightier weight of glory." Now we can see how the man who lost his family out in the sea penned the words It is Well With My Soul. Yes.let's don't resist the evil as Jesus told us..but also don't let the poisin get into your spirit..This is where the oppresion comes in.Let it come and go. Don't let the hurtful words of others reside in your spirit man."Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life."
its what i always refer to as "allowing things/people to steal time from you that could be spent in more productive endevors"
2 Corinthians 4:8-9We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;Ps 7.1 O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me

things are more like right now than they've ever been
It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome.

Good word brother! I think we all get distracted in our journey; I too have been suffering from distractions and setting priorities. As you know I shut down my ministry, Iput away thethe website, and quit sending out daily devotionals due to my busy work load and travel schedule. I put work in front of God; I took my eyes off God and put all my efforts into my job.
God also reveled this to me last night. I do not have binocular vision as some animals do; I can only focus on one thing at a time. I can"t get sidetracked if I focus on Him entirely and let Him direct me in ALL THINGS, allowing Him to set agenda, and priorities.
It"s all about focus, are we focusing on Him, or are we focusing on our problems, our jobs, our hobbies?
So for me the word of the day is: FOCUS.
Be Blessed

Good topic Chuck. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. Words reflect the condition of the enter man. One who always speaks of being struggling with temptations, is one who has stopped short of the real victory that Jesus has provided. One who is worrying about surrounding conditiond and circumstances needs to anchor his soul in the heaven of rest.
We have multitudes of spies who are agreeing that it is a good land as God said it would be, but lack faith to look past the "giants". Joshua and Caleb had SETTLED the matter in their hearts and had to be restrained from going up immediately and chasing them off the mountian. Forty years later, Joshua was still wanting begging to go show them who was the boss.
Israel cowed in their tents while the giant challenged all the faint of heart. Heart conditions aren't a new thing, but David was cut from a different cloth. He trusted God with his heart, and ran to meet the Giant. It's all about the condition of our hearts. The faint of heart withstood Joshua and Caleb. Those with a weak heart rebuked David.
The church has camped on the doorstep to Canann's Land for years, waiting of someone who step forward and declare we are MORE than conquerors, and lead them into place of power and victory prepared for us at calvary.
The battle is very real..Even now I got a word from a fellow school employee..my entire body wants to tremble..yet the Lord brought me back to yesterday's message.Don't let it affect your spirit man. I began to pray in the spirit immediately . and here I am ..typing to you fellows.and yet my nerves in my fleshly man is still a little edgy..yet I've learned not to drink the poison of hopelessness.
I almost feel like I am trapped in a communist world ..with no airfare out. I'm reminded when Israel was taken captive to a heathen country. The leaders put the pressure to worship the heathen god..and three teenagers said.if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? 16b, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
I'm reminded of an Assembly of God missionary that went through many obstacles ..his reply to them all with uplifted hands in sincerity..Praise The Lord.!!
I'm reminded of the apostles while being beatin and jailed..they thanked the Lord that they were able to suffer for His sake.
I'm reminded of Paul in his 2nd letter to the corinthians in chapter 12. 7 bSo to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. 2122 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 2526 Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2930 That"s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. My fleshly man doesn't understand that last sentence very good. haven't grown to the place of taking pleasure in persecutions , insults and troubles..I need understanding in this area.
Ephesian 6:11-18
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins agirt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
I hope you remember this in the future. We battle against powers and principalities that we do not see. Put on the WHOLE armour of God as we are admonished by Paul.
When I feel overwhelm I generally do one thing...BE Still..When I find myself brainstorming I realize I've gone too far..As you have said.."Our warfare is not with flesh and blood..it's a spiritual warfare and must be won by the Spirit..As the propehet wrote."It's not by might .not by power but by my Spirit saith the Lord."
We still can't ignor the episode in 1 Cor. 12 ..That messanger of Satan was given by the Lord..Paul prayed in faith 3 times for it to leave..and it didn't.The trial was there for a purpose...to keep Paul from the satanic power of pride. Our trials test our faith and our love of God. Peter says,"Don't think is strange concerning the fiery trial which is to trial you..let's look that up.
BINGO1 Peter 4:12 Dear friends, don"t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. 13 Instead, be very glad"for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
Thankyou Heavenly Father for your Word..now I understand.
Good word all of you,I certainly could use it tonight,Thank you Chuck.
Shalom
