poor widow

All though I believe the lord was impressed with this poor widow for giving all her living. Do you suppose he was also upset with the church leaders and people for letting this woman get this deprived. Wasn't it their duty to take care of the widows and orphans. Seems to me they should have been giving to her.

Mark 12-43And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Jesus also said,"The poor ye will have with you always."

James makes mention of the poor that "They are rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom of God."

It is not a sin or means someone is out of God's will for being poor.I've been there before. I remember alot of fun times..Churches would bring my family Thanksgiving dinner and my father in law would buy all the Christmas presents..

Yes my friend, "True religion is to care for the widows and orphans"James 1..but IMHO I believe this portion of scripture was teaching a lesson about giving from the heart.

There are plenty of rich verses that show God's love and favor to the poor..

The 'how to get rich' heresy is just that..a heresy..

1 Timothy 6:3If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
