Default Bible Reading

It takes seventy hours and forty minutes to read the Bible at pulpit rate.
It takes fifty-two hours and twenty minutes to read the Old Testament.
It takes eighteen hours and twenty minutes to read the New Testament
In the Old Testament the Psalms take the longest to read: four hours and twenty eight minutes.
In the New Testament in the gospel of Luke takes two hours and forty-three minutes.
That is less those twelve minutes a day to read the entire Bible in a year.
Just in case you were wondering.

Thats interesting Rev.
So, how many times do we have to read the scripture before it is committed unto memory? Then how many hours of prayer before one receives the revelation that illuminates the heart to understand what the brain contains?

Memory..

There are 150 verses in Ephesians and 150 verses in The Sermon on the mount.I memerized them both..I memorized 5 verses a day .It took 1 hour each mornning .I also memorized James..Has about 128 verse..

You get alot out of the verses memorizing.
Thanks for that info Rev..
There are also 260 chapters in the New Test.
If one reads 10 per day they are done in 26 days.

I have found that reading the Bible and READING it are two very differnt things though.

I speed read - I blew through the Deathly Hallows in about 4-5 hours I guess (700+ pages)

I got the gist of the book, but a re-read showed me a few things I'd missed. Such is it with speed reading.

And the more you read it the more you take out of it. I've read things 20 times through and still it impacts me in a new way.
