Default Maslow's hierarchy pyramid

I've beenthinking alot about human behavior lately as I ride my bicycle in the morning..and I recalled this man that we studied about in college..Maslow states that man has some basic needs that range from food and water to sex, safety, self -esteem , and creativity..I thought as a Christian the following was interesting in the realm of self-esteem..My comments are in black..

Esteem
All humans have a need to be respected, to have self-esteem, self-respect, and to respect. Also known as the belonging need, I see this alot..especially with my students needing Nikes instead of Walmart shoes to 'Fit in'..or girl's having sex to fit in etc.etc.etc. Advertizements use this part of human nature to make BIG bucks.John Wesley once said, "Woe to the men who make profit on the weaknesses of others."
esteem presents the normal 'The Word caslls this the flesh'human desire to be accepted and valued by others. People need to engage themselves to gain recognition and have an activity or activities that give the person a sense of contribution, to feel accepted and self-valued, be it in a profession or hobby. such as HNIImbalances at this level can result in low self-esteem or an inferiority complex. People with low self-esteem need respect from others. OOCH!! So the opposite would be..a Christian who is in sync with God would not need this..They may seek fame or glory, which again depends on others. IMPORTANT ..Take note of the next sentence and purpose of this post..It may be noted, however, that many people with low self-esteem will not be able to improve their view of themselves simply by receiving fame, respect, and glory externally, but must first accept themselves internally.Which I beleive all Christians can understand..no matter how many people praise you or how much you own..if your life is not right with God you still feel empty..Actually when one is RIGHT with God..you are fulfilled and don't need the prasie of man or the world's newest toys..There is not enough toys or praise to set a Christian free from his own personal conviction..He alone knows the deep sorrow when there is secret sin..and only he and God can fix that..
God bless,
Chuck7
