Default Prayers for my brother in-law

We need prayers for Josh's brother Jake. He called on Sunday and needed a ride to the E.R. Found out he had an abcess gland and that it needed to be drained. Then yesterday we needed to bring him back in there was another pocket found and he had to go in for surgery. So it's been a bit crazy here. Josh's parents are on vacation so we have the boys, have been making the neccesary trips, and I just went to their place today to clean up some, and get it ready for Tiff's mom to come tonight.

He went through surgery fine yesterday but today they said they need to keep him at least one more night because he is spiking a fever and they haven't been able to get rid of it. Luckily for us our Pastor went up to the hospital to sit with Tiffany while Jake was in surgery and he was up there again to see how they were today so at least they are not going through this all alone.

His mom could use a few prayers as well. I have been keeping in contact with her but she feels so bad that she isn't here with them. I told her to just relax and enjoy the rest of their vacation and that we have everything under control. I know that she is worried. We are going to go get them from the airport on Sunday and then things will feel like they are easing up all the way around. In case I don't make it back on here for awhile Thank you all so much for all of your prayers and support. It is a blessing to know you are all here. In Jesus Precious and Perfect Love your sister Katrina.

Jake called this morning and said he gets to go home today. They got the fever under control and it hasn't been back yet. He is home now and just got back from there, had to go pick up some of his laundry. Tiff had to go to work today and the washers are broken at the apts. Their mom and dad come home on Sunday which will be nice because even though I feel like we have everything undercontrol I don't know all of the right questions to ask, he obviously can't work this week but we are not sure what his restrictions are going to be and for how long. He has to pack the incision with guaze to keep the infection draining and it will be for sure a month that he will have to do that. During that time he will have to be on pain meds and he works at a place that powder coats bolts and screws. It entails running machinery and heavy lifting. He has a follow up appointment on Thursday that I think his mom will take him to and she will make sure that they cover all the bases.
Tiffany works tomorrow so I will need to stop in and check on him on my way to clean their parents house and on the way back, and maybe bring him some lunch.
Thanks again for all the prayers and will keep you updated as we know more.
Katrina

Stopped by for more laundry and to check on things. He was enjoying the quietness. They have him on some really strong pain meds and he hates taking them because they make him feel really weird. He has been having the heaves and some vomitting but we think that it is just the pain meds. He has been drinking plenty of fluids and has committed himself not to push to hard. Someone from church has a meal for him so I am having Josh drop that off tomorrow. I will be home with Nikolai he has a fever and throwing up. Josh is picking up his folks tomorrow from the airport and Jake is happythat his momwill be home.

He said today that this has been a huge lesson in humilaty for him. And I think that this is also strengthening their marriage. Wendy really had a hard time with notbeing able to be there but I think it almost needed tobe that way. Jake needed torely on his wife and not his mom and he is still kind of struggling with that. ButI do understand how Wendy feels. She would have liked to be able to strengthen her bond with Tiff, and I think it may have damaged their relationship further. I know all involved don't see this right now but it was God's timing,He knows what He is doing, and I amvery thankful to Him for that.

Jake was in a lot of pain last night and had some concerns with bleeding so he went back to the ER. CTscan showed all was okay but the doctor thinks that the incision was plugged or something. They are keeping him for observation until this evening. And they are also changing the kind of packing they are using to see if that helps.
