Asking in Jesus name isnot a magical formula - rather "in Jesus name"in the Bible literally means this is what Jesus would want. Try ending your prayer with "this is what Jesus would want" and see if your prayer sounds appropriate.
One reason a prayer may not be heard is because of your sin that you have not addressed (God actually hears the prayer, but He does not answer it due to unaddressed sin). Here is just one example the Bible gives.

1 Peter 3:7(English Standard Version)
7Likewise,(
A) husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker(
B) vessel, since they are heirs with you[
a] of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

What is known as the Lord's prayer is an example of how to pray. There is no magic in repeating this prayer, rather is gives an example of how to pray. First, we need address that God is holyand glorify Him. Second, we need to pray for God's will to be done and not our will. Third, pray for what we need - not what we want. Fourth, we should pray for our forgiveness and ask God for His help in forgiving others. Fifth, we should pray for His guidance in our life to keep us from evil. Sixth, acknowledge the kingdom and power of God andgive Him the glory. If you are a Christian andpray like this could you end your prayer with "this is what Jesus would want"? I belive so.

Matthew 6:5-14(English Standard Version)
The Lord"s Prayer5"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love(
A) to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others.(
B) Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6But when you pray,(
C) go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret.(
D) And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
7"And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as(
E) the Gentiles do, for(
F) they think that they will be heard(
G) for their many words. 8Do not be like them,(
H) for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9(
I) Pray then like this:
(
J) "Our Father in heaven,(
K) hallowed be(
L) your name.[
a] 10(
M) Your kingdom come,(
N) your will be done,[
b]
(
O) on earth as it is in heaven.11(
P) Give us(
Q) this day our daily bread,[
c] 12and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.13And(
R) lead us not into temptation,
but(
S) deliver us from(
T) evil.[
d]
14(
U) For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,
