Default Failure to understand

"What we have here is a failure to communicate" Was that line from "Cool Hand Luke"???

I once saw a cartoon showing a person talking to their dog. They said a whole lot of things in great sentences expressing all sorts of isead to the dog. And then it showed what the dog had heard and understood.

"bla bla bla bla DOG bla bla bla WALK bla bla DOG bla bla bla bla bla OUTSIDE bla bla bla DOG bla bla bla....

You get the point, the dog had a limited vocabulary of english language words. It had learned the meaning of a couple and they were the only ones it understood and meant anything to the dog.

We humans are pretty smart and have a huge vocabulary and understand all sorts of words. But wait, we often have different conotations (personal meanings) for words. And in different contexts we view words and their meanings differently. And there are words that are just not in our vocabulary (and most often instead of asking for clarification we pretend we know what those words mean).

On this forum i see what appears to be a lot of misunderstandings and "a failure to communicate".

Most often if we have a view to share it would be better to carefull think of two or three concise sentences to write down instead of a couple paragraphs full of bla bla bla bla...

Hey Reb. You just received an A+ on that one.
No knowledge + No understanding = No wisdom.
Just think, If the knowledge of God was just 2-3 concise sentences, even I could read the bible through several times each day.

I have to agree with the thoughts expressed on this thread.

See how "country1" has failed to understand my post.

Nowhere did I say, hint or imply that "Bible references and details to explain your beliefs were bla bla bla bla"

And yet that is what he figures I said.

Look at the discussions we have involving "Evolution" and we never stop to define the term.'' Here ishow an online dictionary defines the term:

n. Evolution
[ol][*]A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. See synonyms at development.[*]
[*]The process of developing.[*]Gradual development.[/ol][*]Biology.
[*]Change in the genetic composition of a population during successive generations, as a result of natural selection acting on the genetic variation among individuals, and resulting in the development of new species.[*]The historical development of a related group of organisms; phylogeny.[/ol][*]A movement that is part of a set of ordered movements.[*]Mathematics. The extraction of a root of a quantity.[/ol]
[Latin ēvolūtiō, ēvolūtiōn-, from ēvolūtus, past participle of ēvolvere, to unroll. See evolve.]

I see no mention of GOD or a religious belief in this definition. And yet when we talk about it on here, many have the view that evolution is some kind of religion that opposes GOD and the creation story in the Bible.

Those who say they belive that GOD created the universe and all life and also say they believe that evolution is an ongoingmethod that GOD created and uses in HIS creation, are using the meanig above.
