Default Anger

Have any of you had to overcome anger ??

My last blow up nearly cost me my job..and as my wife walked me back past the last 25 years..it has cost me many many relationships..and I sincerely beleive I was justified in everyone of them..yet if I knew th eoutcome of these outburst I would have certainlyhave turned the other cheek..

I found some great materials on line and plan to use them..as I never even knew I had an anger problem..my dear friendsit's a monster ..I'm trusting God to totally give me victory in this area..

My life is changed now..but here are a few things that I lost because od anger..AND I was in the right every time..But was it worth it..NO !!!

2 music positions in churches..one was a paid one

1 bass fishing partner

trust of a son

1 Tennis Partner

an adult Bible study

almost my job last Friday...

a few friendsips on HNI

trust of my mom and sister

nearly all of my friends..

2 PE coaches

neighbors

Folks the word says there is more hope for a fool than an angry man..I"VE REPENTED..I've treated my students today with kindness this morning instead of threats.God has changed my heart..And all along..I never knew I had a problem..[&o][:-]

Questions..
Do you wanna stay married or be right?

Do you wanna a ministry or be right?

DO you wanna a friend or be right?

Being right can be very costly..
Do ya wanna a job or be right??

The answer..humility ..wait on God..do not avenge my friend...Thanks be to God.my tough principal found mercy ..and personally this is the toughest man I';vew ever worked with..nevertheless. I resign from fighting..cost too darn much..plus it worketh not the righteousness of God.

GOD is working on me with this verything right now, with being laidoff and my inlaws. Thankfully I'm letting the Lord work and not fighting him.

Ditto buddy, I'm in the same boat as you. A Noah's Ark sorta speak. But WHO can calm the seas? Ponder that for a bit.

Yes, my father was a raging alcoholic and I've witnessed him get into many fights with my mother that almost left her for dead. Instead of confront him I would cower in the corner of my room next to the bed. I grew up a wuse and feared women as a result of it. Of course, the Marines changed all of that and I am no longer a wuss. However, that training and experience has only taught me to kill the enemy (not a good thing for my relationship however). I've been married since boot camp in 93 and because of what I had learned or was programmed as a child I have put my wife through a living hell over the years. Edited to add: I can honestly tell you before the LORD however that INEVER physicallylayed a hand on her. Though what I found out through counselling that even if you raise your fist to threaten or block a doorway that is still considered physical abuse and from what I can tell you verbal abuse is pretty bad as well.

I think that anger results from self-bondage and when we cannot control itis when we are in the wrong. Anger is only justified if you can control it. I've learned to do that with counselling, medication (slight chemical imbalance), andseeking the LORD. For the past 3 years my marriage has been way better than it's ever been and I am a completely different person, PRAISE THE LORD! There are only some intimacy (not talking about sex)issues now but heh, I'm married and love is a commitment.

I want to either get back into the military now and be a soldier again or I what I want the most is to be a customs and border protection officer because it is my true calling and I believe thatwith all of my heart, mind, body, and soul that the journey that I've been on has only led me to where I am at now. A place where I am finally ready to take on that responsibility because before I wasn't, let's be honest. Now I am a fine upstanding citizen who is more than ready to protect others. We just have to be still and keep trustin' in GOD/our LORDalmighty!

God bless you Chuck, keep marching

There's the righteous anger that you would experience when you observe someone, for example, abusing a child. Then there's the selfish anger you feel when, for example, you don't get your own way or someone corrects you about something. Even righteous anger can be wrong if it gets in the way of an appropriate solution.
