Default I know I'm supposed to have all the answers. NOT!

Everyone,

I've just got to get some of this off my chest tonight. Lately, I've just been in a funk. We are currently on vacation and today I receive a call from back home about my grandchildren being neglected again. This has been an ongoing situation. Sadly, my middle daughter is responsible for this neglect of her children. I called my oldest daughter to have her check on the situation, since we are so far away, and she begins to tell me about her job. She works for the school system in the special needs section. She described to me the deplorable condition that some of the children she has, are in. I listened but to tell you the truth, it just brought me down even further. I can't imagine where we will be as a nation in the next generation or two, should the Lord tarry. Yes, I know the scripture about the last days being so evil that the love of many will wax cold. Yes, I know that are hope is not to be in this world. And everytime I see these types of situations with uncaring parents, I recall II Timothy 3 when Paul says that in the last dayspeople will be without natural affection. Still, when it invades your own family, whomyou know you raised better, it just hits you in the gut. Believe me, I know all the scriptures that are used in these situations but I am just really struggling with this situation. Lately I have seen many situations here that just rip your heart out and I have to ask myself, is this a coordinated attack by the enemy or just coincidence? I don't know but I continue to pray for everything that has been revealed by some of you lately. I guess tonight, I am just asking you all to pray for me and my situation and thank you for being here and allowing me to vent.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

Pastor Jim, I could have written the same exact thing that you have posted tonight as I have been dealing with the same thing for a little while now. As a matter of fact I have just got off the phone speaking with my daughter.
Tomorrow, I will probably be taking steps to move my grandson in with me. My daughter has been doing much better and has found the Lord but she has a long way to go. It seems that right now she has too much on her plate and I don't have all the answers.
I'll be praying for your family and would appreciate it if you would pray for mine. Of course I'm leaving a lot out as the whole story is just too twisted to even put into words. . . . .but I have faith that the Lord is doing a healing work and that theres Light at the end of the tunnel. God bless in Jesus name.

It is so sad that the old devil will work on the children to try and break up the family but we must not let him get to them..all we can do is love them and pray for them..they will be in my nightly prayers.

As I've said before in this forum, I don't know the words to say in these situations, but you are in my prayers. Good luck.

I just prayed for PastorJim and Mac. I know what it is to have children that aren't living like you thought you raised them to live.- no exceptions here.

It hurts and oftentimes there's not much we can say or do to corrrect it, but our prayers and the prayers of others can and will help.

Everyone,

I want to thank all of you for your kind words of encouragement and especially your prayers. It really lifted my spirit to know that so many people across the nation are praying for our situation. Really, the words "Family of God" have new meaning today. I will tell a little of my daughter's story so that you can pray more specifically. The problem began about three years ago. Prior to that time, she was agood wife and mother and lived for God. Then she got hooked on prescription pain killers and it has been down-hillever since. She left her husband and began living a sinfull life-style. In the past two years she has lived in 14 different locations as she just pays enough to get moved in and then lives there for free until they kick her out. She has been fired from at least four jobs that I know of and at leastfor a while I know that she was stripping. She wa at our house for about three months until we kicked her out right before Thanksgiving. We had given her plenty of notice prior to kicking her out but she still didn't try to do anything to improve her situaton. Weoffered to keep her kids until she could get on he feet but she refused. We also offered to let her stay with us and we would completely support her if she went into drug rehab, but again she refused, saying she didn't have a problem. She left us with no alternative as we were determined we were not going to enable her to continue in her lifestyle. So that's where we are at now. We are currently working covertly with the court to try to help her ex gain custody of the children. I have been dissapointed in the system so far because we have met dead-ends wherever we have turned. We caught her leaving our grandaughter at school an hour and a half before school began, in the cold without a coat, by herself, in the morning. We witnessed this ourself and called the police and cps and nothing was done, not even a police report. My wife has knowledge of her giving both kids medicines that were not intended for children in unsafe doses. We have been documenting everything and have made numerous calls to cps and I know she has had at least one visit with them but she still is doing the same things. There are alot more things she has subjected the children to but they are to numerous to put here. ie. drinking, drugging, and driving with the kids in the car. Anyway, thanks to all who are praying and offering words of encouragement. It really has blessed me today to know that so many people care.

Blessings....Pastorjim
