Believing in the the LORD JESUS CHRIST is not a feeling. Good Feelings escape us on this earth many times. So everyone was having a good time and feeling great for 6 months over a man.thats the problem they were worshipping the Man instead of LORD.

As a student of revival, past and present, I felt compelled to comment on Kosherboy's post and the article that appeared in Charisma magazine. The writer is absolutely correct when he says that no true revival takes place without repentance. If you look down through the history of revivals, you find that this is a common thread that occured in all o0f the recognized great moves of God. The writer is also correct in pointing out that the word revival is used almost as commonly as retail stores use the words; "the sale to end all sales." Just as all that glitters is not gold, every series of church meetings that last more than a few says cannot be called revival. Every since the mid-ninetys and the revivals at Toronto and Pensacola, FL took place, many seem to "cash in" on revival. True revival has several characteristics. First, as the author pointed out in the Charisma article, there has to be true repentance. Secondly, a true test of real revival is how are the individules who participated in it arechanged. Thirdly, what are the fruits that are birthed from these changed individuals? ie. ministries, changed lives etc. In other words, true revival will have lasting effects on the individuals and ministriesinvolved. There are more charateristics but these are some very important ones. This post is getting long, so I will post again onanother side of revival, continued below.

Every and I mean every revival down through history has had its fair share of skeptics and nay-sayers. This is where we must be careful that we, as the the Body of Christ, do not dismiss everythingabout a series of meetings whenwe hear the word "revival." If we are not careful we could miss out on something that God has for us. There are those that don't want to hear anything about revival because when they decide that there is true revival, it demands a decision on their part. True revival demands change of the individual and some are not ready to change so they poo-poo every move of God they hear about. I am not referring to this so called revival in Lakeland, Fl in any of this post, only revival in general. We must be careful that we don't dismiss something everytime we hear the word revival or we could become like the Pharisees in Jesus' time that tried to discredit everthing Christ did because it didn't fit their mold of beliefs. Yes, we need to "test the spirits", as we are commanded to do in the Word of God, but we must also realize that down through history, God has chosen different times, places, and men to manifest himself in different ways to draw people closer to Himself. I challenge everyone to read about the Welsh revival, Azuza street, Cane Ridge, and yes, even modern day movements such as the Brownsville revival. Especially study about the after-effects on the people and communties involved and then judge for yourself whether it was a true move of God or not. Then ask God to change your heart and start a real revival in your church and communityand see what He does. Here's praying for God to send a true repentance revival to every church in our nation and then to the communities those churches are located in!! "Even so Lord Jesus, come quickly!"

Good words Brother.
The formula for revival is: If my people, who are called by my Name, would humble themselves and pray, and turn from their wicked way, Then would I hear from heaven and heal their land.
Revival is not mentioned in the Bible. Repentance is, my friend who taught me so much. Use to say that was a "Still Birth" that is not mentioned in the Bible either. He was refering to the one who just got wet are went thur the motions.
Repentance is more than being SORRY for your sins. Its a changed Life, some change faster than others, Some Grow faster than others. It's also where one is at in his Spirituall Walk with the Lord. Some are more educated than others, just as Saved, but pick up on the Word more quickly that others. Some make more time than others, others have more time. For some it's where you come from in your life. Were your family believers? Is that person carring a lot of Luggage (Raped, Beat, Moslested, Put Down, Rich, Poor, Ect.) I have a tendiecy to think everyone is better than me, not so, their are some really hurting people we must meet them where they are.
Saying all this and still we ALL must meet God on his
Terms.
I was there during the revival and gave a report the very next day...
I was grieved at what I saw because God really does touch and move amongst His people..but within the guidelines of His Word..when we get away from His word ..this is called strange fire and can be very costly.
True revival is costly as Snooky pointed out..It's the 2 Choronicles 7:14 way or no way..It comes from true repentance and is no freak show. It is not weird..and crazy. The wisdom from God is easily entreated full of mercy and is without hypocricy..as spoken in James 3..Although God is powerful He is stillthe God of order and holiness. ..He is not the Author of confusion.
