Hey Alex,
Got a question..I was thinking about ya in my tree stand today..Hey when I was in Israel I noticed the serious Jews would get together and read the Bible at certain times of the day.{No matter where they were at and out loud} .I was impressed with that..ALthough you are a messianic Jew..DO you still follow that pratice??
Yes Chuck, I have not stop doing anything I learned as a Child, for us is obeying God and we don't do it to obtain salvation rather because we are already saved, understand ?

I'm really not sure how many times Jewish people do this per day..But when i was on the plane..It was like clock work..Teh serious jews wouldwalk toward the back of the plane..gather together..and in reverent fear read their Bibles together..I saw this numerous times..
I read mine when I wake up,..and my wife reads hers.. Most days at school I take my Bible to the cafeteria..we have to eat with our students..They have lots of questions..I need to study one more time..in the evenings..One can't get too much Word..SOme of my favorite Word verses.. John 6:63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 8:31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 14:23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
1 John 2:5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Psalm 119:11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
John 15:3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Romans 1:16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
It's a practice I highly recommend. We say the Liturgy of the Hours every morning and evening. (It's a collection of prayers and Bible readings geared to the seasons. It dates way back.) We also say the rosary, but not together, during midday. It keeps us connected to God and to the Word and creates a base for our day.
Naturally, Protestants would develop a different practice, but I think you guys would all find this type of practice very beneficial. If you aren't already doing something ofcourse.
