After reading some of the responses to sunset and her thread on single parenting, I was awestruck and many of the replies. I must admit that I had a tear in my eye as I read about how her children welcomed her home after her graduation. I was also moved by the story from daddy's little girl about her mother and the things she faced as a young mother. There was a common thread in most of these stories. It was how Jesus had made a difference for the people involved, wheather it was with the person directly or Him working through someone else. The bible says in Revelation 12:11 that "They overcame him (satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." So let's hear it! What is your testimony and how has Jesus changed your life? Don't be afraid to say what you once were because that is an even greater indicater of the changing power of the Gospel of Christ. Come on, let's give the devil a black eye today. I will start out with my own story. My parents divorced in 1957 when I waseighteen monthsold. Believe it or not my dad got custody of me in 1957. He remarried quickly and I lived with a wicked stepmother for the next 5-6 years. She would beat me and leave me alonewith three younger siblings to watch when I was a mere six years old. If they did anything wrong while she was gone she would beat me when she returned. She once confined me to my bedroom for two weeks when I was 5yr. old for some minor infraction. She wouldnt' let me out until one of the neighbors complained to my paternal grandmother that she hadn't seen me an wondered where I was. They divorced when I was eight and I remained with my Father. He of course had to work so I lived with two different aunts and uncles and with my paternal grandparents for the next four years. There was one common thread about those years of living with different relatives. They all saw that I was raised up in church and they all went out of their way to make me feel loved. I have my Grandmother to thank for who I am today. She could never read or write but she taught me more about life and love and forgiveness than anyone I have ever known. I preached her funeral 3yrs ago and one of the scriptures I used was "blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy." I am sure that even at this point, she is still at the Mercy Seat obtaining her share of mercy because she was so merciful in her own life. Because of the love and support I received from those people, I have become a pastor, I have a degree in the medical field and have been married to the love of my life for 33yrs. We have raised three daughters and have five grandchildren that our daughters and us are teaching about Jesus and His love. So don't tell me Jesus doesn't make a difference, I know better!! Now let's hear yours.

I'm at work now..will do when I get home.. I have many...I'ev told most of mine on here so I 'll tell a new one ..that I have not shared yet..with anyone
Well, I was fortunate enough that my mother and father were together for 54 years until my mother went home in 1992 and my father lived with us until he went home in 1998. I often reminisce of the Love and kindness of my mother, father, grandparents (both sides) and all ofthe family that I received when Iwasgrowing up.....My mother had me in a Sunday school until I became a pre-teen and a renegade.
In my life I have done and been to places that no loving family haddeserved to receive frommy actions!.....Well, in 1967 I fell in love with a young lady which had been a Devoted Christian all her life and still is. I gave her my word that I would from that day become her Christian Husband until death doest part..In 1968 we had a wedding at the Baptistchurchshe and her family had beenattending since their move to FL from NW NC in 1957...We have lived a Christian life together for 40+ years and will continue until we both go home....

Live Life in such a way that those who do not know Christ will come to know Him because they know you

I have many testimonies of the power of God working in my life..One instance was when my son Andrew was born..His skull had hardened and th edoctors were planning on operating on his skull to allow the brain to grow..babies are supposed to have a soft spot to .A missionary couple we happen to know happened to be in town. They are missionaires for Wycliff. They told us they would fast and pray for Andrew. When we went to the doctors..they were amazed..his hardened skull had gotten soft again..
Four days ago I ask my wife to pray about upping our monthly giving another 100.00...She agreed as many folks are in need. Well, we haven't heard from our missionary friends in over 10 years.Yesterday we got a letter from them asking for our support..Now we know why God laid it on our hearts to up the giving..
God is wonderful,

[/i]It"s hard for me to even tell you all about my past; it"s so unbelievable most of you would have a hard time believing it, and frankly I don"t want to even allow my mind to go there. I can tell you that in 1980 after being a lukewarm Christian in and out of walking with God I had a vision that changed my life. It was Thanksgiving Day, and we were all sitting at the table. We all holding hands as we always did at grace when I saw all the food on the table. The table appeared to be twenty feet long and overflowing with food, it looked like food was hanging on the sides of the table. Then I heard a voice say "Peter do you love?" and it was like Peter was answering back "Yes I love you Lord" and the reply was "Peter feed my sheep!" Three times I heard this, and I started crying and I could not stop. My wife and children didn"t know what was wrong with me; this was supposed to be a time of joy. This was the first of many heavenly encounters I was to have. Shortly thereafter I started Power of Faith Ministry (a benevolence ministry) and made a visit to South Western Theological Seminary, and the journey began. Since then Power of Faith went in different directions, from prison ministry, to gang intervention and today I have a church without walls, using the opportunity that God has given me to travel worldwide and share the gospel of peace reaching out and touching whomever the Holy Spirit brings my way. God has given me so many platforms as he does all of us, we all need to recognize no matter what our profession is; be it a doctor, lawyer or homemaker we all have a ministry! You don"t have to be ordained just on fire!
