Default Reading my bible question

I want to start a daily routine which is what I did before with reading my NIV bible. What do you all recommend me to start? Should I go ahead and Start fresh at the beginning in Genesis? What do you all think? I can never stay away from the word very long. If I start to steer away from it I feel the Lord pulling me right back. I want to start reading my bible at work in the evenings because I have free time and can concentrate. Let me know what you all think.

Did you retain what you read?Sometimes I read a Chapter several times until I fully understand it even if I have to ask questions from church bible scholars.....If you didn't retain and fully understand what you read go back and study the chapter again even if you have to start from the begining of the first chapter of the bible.......

The Bible isn't a novel that is readily understood. It contains the doctrines of God and not man. It is spiritually descerned and hidden from the carnal mind, even though it may be memorized to the word. Prayer must accompany the reading of Gods word along with an open, unbiased mind that is ready to receive and learn of Him. The understanding of what is read is much more important than how much is read.
