Default The Worst is yet to come

Politics
I"™m so into politics that it is ridiculous. Thinking of Obama being president makes my skin crawl. The whole liberal mindset is bewildering to me, with abortion, equal rights to same sex partners, not to mention same sex marriage. I see our country going to hell in a hand basket. I"™ve been country first as long as Mc Cain. I came from a military family and spent four years active Army and 10 more in reserves. I love my country and will die of it when duty calls. But God has opened my spiritual eyes to what is happening right before our eyes. We have all been warned of the last days, and I truly believe the worst is yet to come, but it"™s all in God"™s plan. We know that we will all be hunted down like dogs for professing our faith in Christ. Revelations didn"™t make much sense to me twenty years ago, but now like a puzzle I can see the pieces falling into place. We cannot undo what God has set in motion. So instead of getting frustrated about the political climate or economic conditions, let us prepare for what is coming by sounding the alarm and sharing the Gospel of grace to a lost and dying world. America is a great nation; however America is not our permanent home. Let us patiently a wait our Savior with great expatiations and be diligent to fulfill the great commission.

America, like all nations past and present does not represent Gods Kingdom. Gods People are the Church, the universal collection of members of the Body of Christ. They are His special people, and Beloved Nation.

The Bible tells us that this nation , along with all nations will burn in a fervrent heat. Sadly many trust in their nations, be they America, Canada, China, Germany, or national Israel.

These days I could care less about American politics, as they cannot impart life, and only exist to serve themselves. Governments are gods to many, but to the Children of God, they are just another worldly instituation to be avoided.

Like yourself Rev, I came from a military family. Not long after my Pops retired I myself enlisted. I've voted every election and even tho I've not always felt good about those running I've never been downright disgusted and shocked as I am this election.
"America is a great nation" . . . . .There is still a minority that still shines to me. It feels like tho that it's greatness is giving way to compromise and corruption and folk that stand on sinking sand.
This world just does'nt seem like my home any longer.

2Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

While I believe we may be in the end times, I also read this verse and see hope that there is more time. This verse should go out to all Christians as a reminder that God honors his word and we can make a difference, and as a call to prayer.Perhaps the end times won't come till there are no more Christians praying like this?

Exactly! This is what I've been shouting from the roof tops, but I still don't see America as a whole seeking God. I feel like Mac, it doesn't feel like home any more, and it's a shame.

Just watch cable T.V. and see the garbage on the tube, the air waves are full of trash. Things we would not condone years ago, are cheered today. I used to love stand up comedy, now it should be X rated! I feel so sorry for my grandchildren growing up in the days to come, it breaks my heart to think of our little ones subjected to the times ahead. But press on, and keep looking to Jesus, our hope lies in Glory!

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

In light of Jesus words in the above passage (Matthew ch24) I am wondering how or if Christians should prepare for the possibility of hard times ahead. Would it be wrong to stockpile supplies of food, etc. Theres also the verse about the birds in the field.

Rev,

Well said! While all of as Christians should be concerned about the sad state of our nation, our first concern is our relationship with God and then pointing as many as possible to the cross. And remember this; none of this is taking God by suprise. It is all in His hands and working to fulfill His eternalplan.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

It is important to realize the America never was a nation that represented Gods Word. While there were indeed individual citizens throughout its history who were indeed Children of God, the Nation itself is just as carnal, as any in history.

Our nations history is brutal, and unyeilding. Black men were forced intoslavery for hundreds of years. Native peoples were robbed of not only their land, but their culture. We claim that America was founded on Godly principles, yet we treated men of color like animals.

We practiced institutionalized racism not just against blacks, but also asians, jews, and indians. We have been no better than Pharoahs Eygpt, or Herods Rome.

As time has passed, we have become more vile, embracing the legal slaughter of over 50 million babies since the early 1970's. Both political parties are havens for child molestors, sodomites, adulterers, and theives.

Like ancient Rome, we have sent our military throughout the Globe in the last 40 years fighting political wars of conquest which has bankrupted the nation forcing us to borrow money from regimes even more repungnant than our own. While all this goes on, our debauchery, and gluttony is starting to be our undoing, as the cancer we created eats us alive.

Our children have been dumbed down with a steady diet of video games, and public education. Many are overweight, and slothful, eating a steady diet of processed food, and sitting in front of their "myspace" page.In our greed, and excess our women are forced to work full time to support the bloated lifestyles we Americans feel we are worthy of.

We have to have the best. Heaven forbid we actually by a used car, or a small modest home. Heaven forbid we actually shop at thrift stores, flea markets, or yard sales.

Heaven forbid that we actually choose a lifestyle that will allow our wives to stay at home and raise our children, and home educate them. Heaven forbid that we actually practice the premise that charity begins at home.

What makes you think the end is coming Rev? I would like some facts that back this up.
