In light of some of the recent replies the Lord laid this thought on my heart this morning..There is a huge difference between knowing God through your intellect and in your heart..
Peter walked with Jesus daily yet Jesus says to Peter.."When thou art converted strenghen the brethren." So did Peter know Jesus...yes and no..Peter swears with the strengh of his intellect.."I will never deny thee." and in the hour of weakness..Peter fails miserably..UNTIL.....he is filled with the Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2..then we see Peter preaching boldly..and at the end of his earthly time{ During his execution}wishing to not be crucified like Christ and was crucified upside down...Yes my friends there is a huge difference in knowing God through the limitaions of our minds and knowing Him through the Spirit..Romans 8 speaks in great deal just on this issue.
2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are in tough times when we all need to rasie the bar in our Christian lives by LIVING in the Spirit..living a fasted life style..depending totally on God..otherwise..you will be part of the "Great falling away." ..Be as the 5 wise virgins were ..Keep your vials filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit..We are here ..the time we have all talked about..
Live in the Spirit my friends..be wise .."Your adversary the devil walketh around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour...be ye stedfast in your faith knowing that the same afflictions are happening to your brethren all over the world."
we need the same Spirit as these Hebrew young men. Daniel 3:14Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up.:15Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? 16Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
