Just wondering if you agree with me that if Biblical principles on debt were followed by more Americans, if this current economic problem wouldn't be quite so bad...

yes, i believe if the bible was followed closer we would not be in this mess, and were all guilty, too much debt, too much greed, on both sides[&o]

if i remember correctly you were listening to some of Dave Ramsey's stuff or doing finicial peace????

Yep, following the Total Money Makeover. Currently 9 months from debt freedom (except for the house.)

By then, the house should be 8-9 years or so away.

Absolutely! Credit and financing is a tool used by the devil to enslave people. It is talked about in the bible and it will ultimately lead to Revelations. In reality, there should be no reason why middle waged people cannot give thier 10ths to the church or other good works for the Lord like Childrens hospital or the soupkitchen or whatever.

My wife and I are just about finished with the Crown Financial class that teaches us what the Bible has to say about finance. The Bible is so explicit when it comes to our being held accountable for EVERY penny GOD trusts us with. It took me a long time to hear that everything belongs to GOD, we are just caretakers for HIM. A different attitude will come from taking this study- I now know to ask HIM how HE wants me to handle HIS money...
Tithing becomes an act of worship for us now. Debt is strongly discouraged, I am looking at money in such a different way now! Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourselves;

I just pretty much posted a commercial for CRown Financial; I am sorry, I didn't mean to show excitement for the program, but meant to show it in the new knowledge of how GOD wants us to treat HIS money... Did you knowthat the BIble has over 2500 verses that deal with money, possessions, debt and finances? That says a great deal about how much emphasis GOD places on faith, stewardshipand obedience.....
