Hebrews 1:1
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke to the fathers by the prophets,
2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
4 having become so much better than the angels, as He by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Hebrews 4:12

Hebrews 6:18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
1Peter 1:23having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
24 Because "All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass whithers, And it's flower falls away,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever."
2Peter 3:5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in water,
6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.
7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word,are reserved for fire until the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Revelations 1:2 who bore witness (John) to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.
3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it: for the time is near.

The trustworthy Prophetic word
2Peter 1:16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

Psalm 148:14 For this is God,
Our God forever and ever;
He will be our guide

So you see the Scripture backs itself up. The bible is the whole truth, because it was inspired by God, written by the holy men He appointed, and because God is Love He is incapable of lieing. Everything in the bible is actual events, it is not fables and fairytales and a few battle scenes to catch the guys eye. The bible is the Living Word and God is the Word. You have to take it all because God says we are to be obedient to His word.
I will type one more passage
2Corinthians 4:1 Therefore since we have this, ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.
2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the wordof Goddeceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
5 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
