Here is what I think. And please be patient I am praying for guidance as I write this......

God has a purpose for each and every one of us, and we are to obey His will. The bible says not to lean on your own understanding.
When we do not obey we will have a natural consequence to our actions (choice)

There is also the fall of man. When Eve ate the fruit and then gave of it to Adam and he did eat as well, we were given the knowledge of good and evil. Before they ate the fruit they did not sin because they did not know evil. The only thing they were not to do was eat the fruit of that one tree. And they made that choice, they were no longer sinless and knew evil. With that they were no longer perfect. They had to work for their food, and they were succeptable to sickness. Some things just happen because this earth is now tainted.

The best I can tell you is pray, get to know the Lord better and strengthen your relationship with God by reading the Scripture, and hold yourself upright and holy not so you have what some would say good luck but because you love God.

As a Christian who is strengthening my relationship with God, I can tell you that you are to be servant of men and that your main purpose is to glorify God. The bible says that God is the potter and we are the clay, if we love God than we will submit to His will and let Him mold us so that we may glorify Him. The bible never says that being a Christian will be easy. In many ways it will make your life more complicated.

There are different seasons to a Christians walk, there will be times that you will feel very close to God and things in your life will feel good. THen there are times where he prunes us or is molding us. This is where we feel a low time in our life and may feel doubtful that God is with us. These are the hard times, sickness, loss of job, loss of family ect. God is allowing us to go through a particular situation or series of situations in order to strengthen us in Him. And then there are the times that are dorment, your life doesn't feel really good, but not bad either, you may start to doubt your own faith because you may feel as if you are not bearing fruit or you are not bearing enough of it. God has not left you but it is best during these times to do some extra study on Scripture and take the time to really show others around you how much you love them.

There is no voodoo in Christianity no magic spells, it is all about God and His glory and Honor. It is being blessed in the good times, the bad times, and the dormant times in our lives because He will never leave us nor forsake us. It is all about the hope grace and mercy we recieved through the death and resurrection of ourLord andSaviour Jesus Christ.

Any number of us would love to talk to you about what is going on in your life if you are willing to share specifics. I hope this helps and I hope you get it all figured out.

Depends on what you mean by this. I believe that a person or family (non-Christian, as Christians cannot be demon possessed)can be under demonic opression (as seen in Scripture). There is a supernatural realm.

It feels like I am under a curse.

Have you ever dabbled in the occult, black majik, wicca, ouiji boards, seances, etc? You may have opened yourself to demon possession.

Or is it just dumb luck ?

No such thing as luck. God is sovereign.

It doesn't matter what I try it just will not work.

Need more info here. What will not work?

So what do you think ?

And Please this isn't a Joke Post.

If you are honestly interested in serious dicussion as it pertains to these things, feel free to PM me.

Thank You.

can't add much to what has been said, but i will tell you, i was raised in a negative atmosphere and carried a lot of that trait around with me for quiet some time, studying the scriptures will help immensely in this..

i also bought myself a copy of a book on tape, it is "the power of positive thinking" by Norman V. Peele... it is backed/packed with scripture, i have a long drive into work and i'll listen to it anytime i get caught up in a period of negitivity...

Didn't God curse Essau for being careless with his birth rite? And if I am not mistaken, Jacob was cursed with the ugly daughter in return, LOL.

What would you feel that makes you cursed? Do you think that you did something wrong? You might want to watch the movie Planes, trains, and automobiles starring John Candy and Steve Martin, it is a little old but it gets the point accross. Sometimes we do not go the way that the Lord intends us to go and the Lord lets us know that we are going the wrong way by not jumping in. I would not consider that a curse though. I would consider it tough love.

Believe it or not!! The Bible has said;
Mal 2:1-3And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. V2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heatr, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of Hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse.

I felt that way for many years, each time I took a step forward I went back two. Sometimes it just circumstances. There was a period that I actually wanted to die, and even thought of ending my life. Being a Christian didn't exclude me from mishaps, then something happened. I started prospering, even though I lost my wife, I knew somehow God was going to bless me. I'm at the top of my career in my profession, there are only a handful of people that do what I do in the construction business. I fly all over the world with an expense account that would make politician's jealous.I am over four major corporations and still manage to hunt, fish and spend weekends at my lake house. Fifteen years ago I was renting a mobile home in the country. And God did it all, I take no credit for what has happened in my life. Sounds like I'm bragging, but I'm bragging on God. He put me in the right place with the right people. Your circumstances are simply a stage to prepare you for what is about to happen. You have to keep trusting in God.
Imagine the turmoil that Joseph went through from the pits his brother put him in and the amount of time it took for him to become the governor of Egypt. And all the while being in prison, having his family turn on him, he never quit trusting in God. My friend, keep looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. If you give up, and let those temporal circumstance get you down, your giving the enemy the weapons to defeat you.
I know I've been there. Feel free to p.m. me and if you want I'll give you my phone number. We are family here.

Bob,

Your preaching is some of the best, clear, and concise preaching that I have ever heard. I am personally glad that you are here to help guide us with God's word. It is truly a blessing.

If there is no God, then there probably aren't any other supernatural forces either. What may seem like a curse to you is just a simple run of bad luck. Try to work around it in a rational, methodical way.

If there is a God (in the standard monotheistic system of belief), then the Rev and Dozen Arrows are correct. Any supernatural influence on your life can only come fromthis god. Try to work around your problems in a rational, methodical way.

The only way that a malevolent supernatural force could manifest as a curse of some kind is for a monotheistic god to be evil, or for polytheistic gods to be in conflict. It is currently notpopular to think either of these is the case, but if it is then the best you can do is to try and work around your problems in a rational and methodical way.

Some things are just going to be beyond your control.
