I think they are messing in an area that is very dangerous. Making a machine to replicate Gods creation power has to tick him off.

If it costs only 10 billion to unravel some of these mysteries I'd say it was well worth it.

It sounds extremely interesting. I wish I knew enough physics to really understand what they're doing.

I do not think that is the intention of the scientists who built and will operate this facility. They are trying to gain insights into the origin of matter and the nature of matter. In particular, why does matter have this property we call "mass" that manifests itself in such disparate ways as inertia and gravitation?

As Sylvan says, for $10 billion we will have a device capable of creating the conditions that existed at an extremely small fraction of a second after the Big Bang. I think what we will learn about the history and properties of the Universe we live in will make this project an excellent investment in furthering the progress of science.

try shooting it at a bad angle (like up hill) where the scope will find your noggin, guarantee you'll see stars

as far as the HLC, sounds like a large multi-beam particle separator[:-][&:]

I love to see the advancement of science. With that said, science and religion aren't enemies. Actually, if I understand it correctly they are trying to understand dark matter, which is a great mystery.

If you look at how complex humans are i.e. brains, organs, blood vessels, eyes, reproductive systems etc.. it would be foolish to believe that it was all just a random occurence. Plus, the biggest thing is that creating a big bang is taking machines and human intelligence, so that throws out random chance.

The thing of it is they still can't answer where the particles came from. Even if you collide them together. If we don't put God in a box we know that he could have created a particle and another and then pieced them together. He has the patience, the strength, the creativity, the passion, the knowledge. I don't know how God did the actual act of creation but I do know that it was He who did it.

But here is my logical thinking or opinion as some would have it. We do the things that we are passionate about, and most are passionate about building something. You have those who love to build cars, some houses, some love to build with wood, some metal, some concrete &there are those who build computer games. Some build relationships, teams, ect. And we all start somewhere. Those who build with wood start to work with more intricate pieces as they become more experienced or knowledgable. It is more fun to do the intricate pieces than it is to build simple ones.So I believe since we are made in God's image that is an attribute we get from God. The bible says that God says let there be light. By those simple words He can make light, but I believe He was passionate about all the things He created or He would not have created them, what I guess I am trying to say is the bible may have simplified it, for our benefit. The bible has many things not explained in full detail, many mysteries some of which we are not ever to uncover, but there are those that are. Make sense?

Sorry I had a feeling that I needed to check this post and I am glad I did, it was a little scrambled but I think it is okay now.
