Another Peace Robber...compromise in those "Small things "
Well Folks,
When your out to live in God's peace the enemy comes with a bag of tricks..He doesn't want you having peace because of it's many rippling effect benefits like..
-loving others
- joy
- confidence in prayer
- confidence when facing trials / death
etc.
I learned a lesson this week I'd like to share..Another teacher the same weight as I are having a weight loss contest between us since Aug.3rd...He's winnning by a pound so far..I've lost 17 and he 18..anyway the Lord is directing my path..and I've totally stopped drinking sodas..Well as one of my incentives I have a small refrigerator under my desk with sodas for the kids. Lately..I've been tempted to drink a soda..Surely there is no sin in drinking a soda..and I would get one or..2[&o]
Last night we had open house and a parent stayed and chatted as we both enjoyed each others fellowship .He also is a musician and were planning some get togethers..HOWEVER' I noticed our theology is slighty different..{ Just a little leaven[8D]}He has adopted in his heart the " God understands if we sin mentality ..and I can still maintain my peace in sin."
When I went home I found it harder to resist some past sins ...calling them "Gray areas."
When I awoke this morning and the Lord spoke directly to my Spirit saying "God expects your best at all times." Paul said," All things are lawful but all things are not expedient." It all starts with compromising ..and compromising breeds more compromising ,,and your peace slips away...it all started with that little can of soda.God's Word says, "And whatsoever ye do do it all to the glory of God."
The Lord reminded me of Matthew 7..Those folks spoke of how they cast out demons.etc.etc...but as I said before ..God is more interested inbeing obedient in the small things in our lives than how many scriptures you can quote,or how much you fast or pray, give or read your Bible ...thus he said unto them.."I know ye not.ye workers of iniquity."
FOlks,,I'm talking to myself here...we can never have peace if we aren't always shootingfor to give God our best." The lukewarm shall be spewed out of His mouth." And after speaking with this individual for a while..I'e changed my mind..I plan to stay put..I'm kind of new in this place of peace and need more time to be setttled..I hate living apart from God's peace..It's actually not living at all.
Our peace is connected with faith..so don't do anything that hurts your faith..Obedience causes faith to grow. Romans 5:1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
From the Old Testament sacrifices to "Be ye holy" in 1 Peter... God expects are best at all times.

Concider the little foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vine. Good post Bro Chuck. The bottom line is this, When the storm comes, the winds blow, the rain falls and beats upon his house, it will stand because it is built upon a rock.
Therefore settle the matter in your heart! If it isn't settled beyond any shadow of doubt trouble lies ahead.
I have espoused you unto one husband, even unto Christ--Until death do ye part!! To live for God, one must have a backbone like a "saw-log". Doen't bend, bow, or break under pressure, just stands steadfast, unmovable, even in the small things.

And when are best is not enough we have to trust His GRACE. That's what He spoke to my heart this morning And if it's truly God's grace than truly God shouldget all the glory...I'm not talking about a grace where God ignors or winks at your sin...but a grace where God is working through us to do of His good will...when you know darn well that within yourself..you are too weak ...thus GOD gets all the glory and I want to personally apologize for all the times I've boasted of my accompishnents in Christ..becasue honestly..it is His grace that has done it all..In myself..i'm a loser...but through HIs grace we are more than conquerors.

You're not a loser Chuck, our Lord has already taken us to victory at calvary. We are not weak when we have the peace of God within us but you are right, we are lost withoutour Lordand we need to first always seek him, the almighty king of kings. That is his promise..
