If not..I would start there..You will be surprized what happens to your mind by just reading the New Testament..The Lord will speakto you my friend as you are reading His Word..take it to your deer stand this year..just be ready to slide it down your shirt when the buck walks by..because in your quiet reading.God will bless you.ALL my bucks came while I was reading the WORD
So what do you call Prayer? It is a conversation that is vital to having a personal relationship with my heavenly Father.
What is your explanation of Prayer? A conversation of many depths for the purpose of a personal and intimate relationship with the Saviour.
What way do you Pray? In many ways. In happiness, sadness, hope, love, thanksgiving, rejoice, and in times desperation.
What do you Pray for? I pray for many things. Each time I pray it draws me closer to God. For the most part I pray for everything. Guidance, a pure heart, my family, strength, obedience, friends, fellow Christians, political leaders, service men and women- (soldiers, police officers, ect.), clergy, my church family, people in crisis, that all would come to know, love and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, the list is even longer than that, (down to when I have lost something-I commune with God)
Is it for you or someone else? For both me and others. Mostly needs and guidance for myself and others along with peace and comfort.
How do you Pray? Both quietly and aloud. And always for God's will and not my own.
Most important Who Do You Pray To? I pray to the Living God.
If you had to tell a person the correct way to Pray, Just what would you tell that person? I would direct them to Matthew 6:9 (the Lord's Prayer) because no one could say it better than the Lord himself.
Thank You for your replies.
Just a quick note: Often times at dinner we say Come Lord Jesus, and our bedtime ritual is to say either the Lord's Prayer or Now I lay me down to sleep and then once in bed, individual prayers are said for matters that on the children's hearts and minds.
A lot of my day consists of communication with God. Lord grant me with patience, help me to be better organized today, and many times a person will come to mind and I will ask the Lord to help them that day. And in thanksgiving and praise. I believe that is the unceasing prayer that the bible instructs us to have. I am sure Chuck wrote something in his post and will check out.
Katrina,
I was born again in 1976..and until 1990 di dnot have much of a prayer life..I memorized scripture but did not have a prayer life.
In 1990 I was forced to teach highschool special gang members..I WAS SCARED to death...
To make a long story short..The Lord told me to pray daily for each student and my fear would be replced by love..and it really happened..It's impossilbe to hate someone that you pray for..
You also reminded me of something else Katrina..at meal times we read scripture when we pray before meals.Timothy says the meal is sanctified by the prayer and the Word.
