knowledge of good and evil

I am almost tempted to say nothing more and see what kinds of responces come from the title of the thread by itself.

After all most often everything we talk about on this forum boils down to "is it good or is it evil????"

Taking that a step fartherour posts are all about "judgement". We see or hear something and we judge it as being "good or evil". Then often we look to scripture (or the "values of society") to find backing and proof for our judgements.

That is why I like to see someone post "I think...because..." I feel this shows that the person is making a judgement or opinion and is telling us why they feel that way. Instead of "It clearly states in the Bible that ..." which, to me,shows that the person knows truth and is kind enough to share it with us.

Why are we so focused on sorting out and labeling what is "good" and what is "evil" anyway? Man has eaten of the "fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil". So we all know what is "good and evil" right?

Perhaps "good and evil" is far more complicated than we think.

As our children were growing up my wife and I tryed to teah them lessons for life. One thing we oten told them was that a thing could be good or bad depending upon the circumstance or how it was used. For example a wiener can be cooked on a stick on a fire and be good to eat. A wiener is about the perfect size to stick in an infants throat and could choke them to death (bad or evil).

Here is a picture of a woman's knee. (good right?) Or do you see the picture differently?

I guess there is a reason they say "a picture is worth a thousand words" Some of the postsbelow focus just on the picture and not what I had to say in the post. But I guess in away it proved my point that "good and bad" are within us and when we see something we can creat good or bad out of it. If Kosherboy had not quoted my whole post (I don't know why people do that)the original pic would br gone.

Now when you look at the picture above do you think "nice deer" or "boy would I like to kill that budk, in season or not, I'd poach it if I had the chance"

When Adam and Eve ate of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they disobeyed Gods instructions and in exchange lost their access to the Tree of Life.

There's nothing with acknowledging beauty, however when we allow lust to take over then it becomes sin. We are in control or our thoughts and emotions. We are made in His image, and if Christ now lives in us, would we invite Jesus to partake in lust? Of course not! We are humans, not animals, notice how dogs greet each other.

When I saw the pic..I quickly decided to move on ..I did not stop to read the post. Coming out of areas like that in my personal life...that was very offensive to me..and I quicklyran away..Sin is the quickest way to ship wreck one's faith and lose one's peace of mind..I'm addicted to God's peace and hate every smell of sin..Woe to those who are a stumbling block to others.

Honestly..once one experiences the wonderful peace of God..you will hate sin and flee from it....You will become addicted to the things of God..I'm for real here.
