Default Sunday Sermonette

Howdy you all..hope this finds you in great spirits and looking forward to a blessing..i am feeling somewhat better with the new pacemaker and i know it's because of the prayers of you guys and gals..please continue to pray for one another as God does hear and answers prayer Amen..
Todays sermon is going to be about Heaven and who's going there and who's not..i hope it will be an encouragement to you and get you to thinking about the near future.
Father we thank you for that blessed hope we have that one day we be there with you for all eternity..we thank you and love you in Jesus name and for Christ's sake..AmenHeaven is for real as it is a prepared place for a prepared people. we don't know much about heaven and what God has in store for us but whatever it is, it will be wonderful..The Psalmist writes in Psalm 17:15,"As for me, i will behold thy face in righteousness, i shall be SATISFIED, when i awake with thy likeness"1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. Rev. 22:1-5 KJV.
People have many ideas what Heaven is going to be like but we don't really know all that it will be. here in our text this morning the Apostle John gives us a glimpse of what it will be like..if you remember the story, he was caught up into heaven, where he saw a pure river of water, crystal clear and the tree of life.. and he said in heaven there was no need for lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light..ah yes the wonderful glory of God will light up the heavens..there will be no sin, no sorrow no sickness,
a little boy was walking down the golden way and he asked an older man, where are all the ambulnces and police cars as i haven't heard a siren since i been here..he said there is no need for police here, for there is no crime.. words really fail to describe heaven. the bible says, " eye has not seen nor ear heard neither have entered into th heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him..oh how i love him!!!! these next verses have probably been read as many times as the 23 psalm and yet like the disciples millions of people don't understand them..
John writes in the forteenth chapter of John- Jesus speaking
" Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
in my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
and then he goes on to write-
"3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
"And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? And Jesus answered the question that millions have asked.-
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me."
Yes my friends, the world will tell you there are many roads to heaven but according to God's Word there is only one way, through Jesus Christ shed blood on calvary..What a wonderful Saviour..
Thank God for brother Thomas..he asked the question that millions needed to know and millions have a home in Heavn..
now the next question is, who is going to heaven?27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. proverbs 10:27-32 KJV.
The difference between the righteous and wicked should be as clear as night and day. Yet, how does one identify the righteous person as truly being righteous and a child of God? As i said before, it should be evident in our walk and talk. too often the way one identifies is by success and lack of, and the turmoil within a person"™s life. This is not a view which can be maintained by Scripture. All too often we see a successful and prosperous Christian and thus we use that individual as our yardstick. never ever follow man because he will fail you somewhere down the road.. The true yardstick is Jesus Christ and He must be the One we seek to strive to be like. If as a follower of Christ, you use the prosperity as the measuring stick and fail, then you start to doubt and question the walk you have with God!
Remember Job and Words of Jesus as they point you to a walk that makes God your only reference point and being.
more like Jesus the bottom line of your life. I like what
Paul said to the church at Corinth, "For i determined not to know anything among you but Jesus Christ and him crucified."
May each of us learn to lean upon the Spirit of God to direct our paths and may others see Jesus in the life we live.
Father we can't thank you enough for your mercy and love toward us. thank you for that wonderful promise that we do have a home in Heaven with you and all our loved ones that have gone on before..and Father if there is one here that doesn't have that blessed hope may thy sweet Holy Spirit touch their heart and they will come to know you as Lord and Saviour..in Jesus name and for Christ sake i pray, Amen...
