Default 100% God

Each day I try to live my life to the best I can. I belive in Christ and what he has done for me. I dont read the bible every day. I am always thinking about it. There are other things in my life that I focus on more. For example deer hunting. Is there wrong in this?

DH, I think IMO, every Christianhas their own relationship or type of relationship with God. I know what I should be doing about my relationship with Him but I'm lazy and don't do what I should also. I do know He wants to be first in our lives and depend upon Him and His Word for our daily guidence and bread.

When I was younger I focused a lot on hunting and used to start dreaming in October and my neck would swell at the first cool snap!! We have to grow and be fed like a child and soon we should mature in Him. I'm probably a little older than most folks on the forum and I find that the older I get my relationship with God seems to get stronger. I don't think about hunting like I used to and spend most of my hunting time behind the wheel of my truck looking for varmits! I guess the answer or moral to a relationship with the Holy Spirit is: You get out of it what you put into it. And the meaning of grace is: something we don't deserve but we have it!! Hope this helped, Benny.

Fred , you are young in Christ my friend..As the Word says..you will decreas and Christ Jesus will increase..You are in His hands. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith..Just remember..sin weakens your faith..so do things that strenghen your faith such as ..
obey the Word
pray,
read the Word
hear the Word,
fast,
and flee from youthful sins like alcohol , porn and ungodly music. they will destroy your faith...and we are saved through faith..
1 Peter 1:5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Deerhunter1224,

If I may offer you any wisdom it would be this, we should never put anything before our relationship with God. Think of it like a marraige relationship. If you told your spouse that you loved them but never spent any time with them, would they believe you? At the same time, our spouse would also not want us doing things out of obligation only. That relationship as well as our relationship with God has to be based on our love for Him rather than ritual or obligation. In other words, our obligation is to loveGod and to love others. Everything else flows from that love. When we read his word or spend time in prayer, it should be because we are in love with Him and we want to nurture that relationship just as we nurture any other relationship we care about. In other words, love is thecause, everything else is the effect. The fact that you are thinking about this may be an indication that God is wanting to draw you into a deeper relationship with Himself. Remember what the scripture says when it says "draw close to me and I will draw close to you." I pray that God will reveal Himself to you in a powerful way today.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

Considering how far you've come little brother, I would say you're on track. Keep it up.
