Just sharing a small portion of this AM's bible lesson. It's part of a series that has extended for several weeks, revealing New Testament truths from the types, shadows, and figures of the Old Testamentthat are so essential to understanding New Testament doctrine of Christ. Trying to preach Christ without the elementry foundation taught by the schoolmaster, is equivalent to algbra without learning to add and subtract.
The Golden Altar of incense was the smallest peice of furniture in the Tabernace, but perhaps was the most important as it was the last peice of furnitureto be incountered before entering the Holiest of All. It was also the only peice of furniturewhich God gave the instruction for its use before he instructed its construction.
Wood overlaid with gold=the dual nature of Jesus. He was the only God/man. Born of a woman, yet the Son of The Most High. Jesus was the table/Altar upon which the incense was burned. Jesus was also the incense burned upon the Altar. Eph 5:2 The sweet smelling savor.
The four sweet smelling spices burned upon the Altar were forbidden to be used for any other purpose and those guilty of their use faced the penalty of death. The aroma of the incense saturated the priest with its smell. (He hath made us Kings and Priests) Acts 4:13 They knew Peter and John has been with Jesus. If you must tell others that you are a Christian, you are not! It cannot be hid when Christ, The Hope of Glory, fills our very being with his Holy Spirit. We are the light of the world, a city sit upon a hill cannot be hid.
What are the true representives of the four spice shadows?
1. prayer 2. intercession 3. praise 4. worship.
Prayer is found in Ps 141:2, Ps 113:2-3, Rev 5:8, Rev 8:3-4
Intercession Jesus, our High Priest was made in the likeness of sinful man and tempted in all points as we. He know from experience what he face and what we as frail human beings need to carry us through. He maketh intercession for us!!
Justification was accomplished at the Brazen Altar. Sanctification accures at the Golden Altar and establishes a New Covanent in the individual life of the believer. Heb 10:14 Heb 7:25.
Heb 9:15 Jesus makes intercession for us as we intercede for others. Jesus is constantly envoking the promises of the New Covanent in our behalf.
At the first altar, (Brazen) we are concerned with our sins. At the Altar of incense, we are only concerned with entering into the presense of Almighty God.
One must not enter empty handed lest he die. He must have a censor filled with burning incense from the Golden Altar to fill the Holiest Place with a cloudbefore he entered. No man can look upon God and live, therfore the cloud hides the priest from the fulness of Gods Glory.
One had to keep the WHOLE law, not just part of it. Man shall not LIVE by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Let us go on unto perfection.

Good stuff that and worth a good look.

See then that thou make all things according to the pattern showed thee in the Mount.
As one journeys toward his final goal, entering into the Holiest of all, into heaven itself, where the abiding presense of God dwells, there are a series of necessities shown in the Holy Writ. Not suggestions, or options, but vital steps which cannot be overlooked nor bypassed if Gods pattern is of any true value.
1. Must be the seed of Abraham. Called.
2. Of the tribe of Levi. Chosen.
3. Must enter the one gate or entrance. Faithful.
4. Must pass the Brasen Altar. Die to self and the old man.
5. Must wash at the Laver. Wash lest ye die.
6. Must pass through the first Vail. Must be born again.
7. Must be illuminated by the light of the Candlestick. Walk in the light.
8. Must eat the bread in the light of the Candlestick. Abide in the truth.
9. Must daily sacrifice at the Golden Alter. Prayer and intercession.
10. Must pass the second Vail with hands full of incense from the Altar. Hold steadfast unto the end.
Which steps have been done away with in the New Testament?
The Grace of God, that bringeth salvation, hath appeared unto all men, TEACHING us that deneying ungodly and worldly lusts, we should live subberly righteously, and Godly in this present life.
Does Grace teach one to neglect the scriptures, or to obey them all unto the saving of the soul?
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
This is saving faith, when one hears the word and simply does what it says to do.
Withou faith it is impossible to please him.
