RE: Faith
Faith is basically non-existant in the Christian community. If you doubt the statement, just quote a positive statement from the scripture and see what is the response. You will be told that you can't trust the scripture because of a lost meaning that occured during translation. You also must understand, Greek, Hebrew, and Arabic, and then use your own intelligence to come to the true meaning. You will be encouraged to use common sense when Gods doctrines vari from the unscriptural doctrines of the local assembly.
You will be given every excuse possible to "prove" that God really didn't mean for his word to be taken literally.
"Except ye become as a little child" means exactly that! Except means "without exception". A "little" child doesn't question his Father. He totally believes anything his Father tells him. He want listen if you tell him his Father didn't tell the truth. His Father is the biggest, best, most dependable, reliable Father that ever was, and don't try to tell him differently, He don't believe it "NONE".
Without Faith it is impossible to please him.
Faith doesn't come by prayer, fasting, reading and studying, giving time or finances, joining a church, ect. There is one bibical was that faith comes, Romans 10:17 so then faith cometh by HEARING, and hearing by the word of God.
How shall they hear without a preacher? Don't have a home assembly with a preacher to deliever a message from the word?=children in whom is no faith.
Obey them that have the rule over you, submit yourselves unto them for they watch for your soul. Doesn't apply to us??
Shall we all sing along--
Me and Jesus, got our own thing going,
Me and Jesus, got it all worked out,
Me and Jesus got our own thing going. I don't need no-body to tell me what it's all about.
Phillip, join yourself to the Ethopian's chariot and ask him if he understands what he readeth. He will admit that he must have some man to guide him, preach me (Jesus) to him from the old testament prophet that he is reading. When you preach Christ unto him, he will ask to be baptized.
Cornelius, Your a good man, doing all you possibly can, but that isn't enough, send for Peter and he will tell thee what thou oughtest to do. He will tell the words whereby thou and alll thy house shall be saved. Any you Peter, when you get down to his house, command them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. When they hear the scriptures preached, they will obey.
Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness sake.
If you were Abrahams seed, you would do the works of Abraham.
